Well Today - today's plans are going to be strange, just waiting for the bands of heavy wind and rain to pass by . . . Definitely going to be concerned about the "King Tides" which will be high again today and maybe even tomorrow - which really affects where I live next to the Intercoastal. So going to keep hunker down, hoping not to lose any electricity ( No Electricity, really need to get ab affordable battery charged inverter that last more then 8 hours) , and stay off the road. Thankfully, I got to my dialysis treatment yesterday - so don't have to worry about it until tomorrow. Hopefully the roads will be and stay clear of enough water & traffic by then so I can get to the facility.

The rest of the day will be - really more concerned about our other Florida friends on the West Coast and in Mid-State Florida which is where "Ian" is supposedly moving through the state. . . @JCinFLA, @classwife, @Flowersoul, @Burnie, @Bea-FL, @MacTechVpr, etc. (AND -those who have not checked in - Florida Hurricane Check-in ) So continually sending out . . . GOOD VIBES . . . And - Hoping everyone is staying and will be safe.

.

Today is the day I find out for certain if my VNS is active or not. If it hasn't been active for the last year since I got it, it will be turned on. However I believe it was turned on last year as I can sometimes feel it go off. After my vocal cords healed from the surgery, I haven't had the expected voice changes that happen when the device activates, which is every 5 minutes for 30 seconds.

    Morning, mixers.

Good luck to all in Ian's path, he sure doesn't look like a nice guy...

The guessers were pretty solid last night about overnight rain. Solidly wrong, at least here. :(

I'm glad to be busy again but it seems like every machine I work on is a 3-4 hour ordeal. I just finished taking a machine down almost to the frame. Now I wait on warranty parts and have to put it all back together in a few days.

It's just been dreary all day here.
I went in to work for a few hours to get some stuff done in peace. (we are closed today & tomorrow...playing Friday by ear)
A few minutes ago had the first bit of biggish wind here.

It's not coming at Tampa any more so no longer looking at the dirty side hitting us here, but this thing is rather large and a very slow mover.
Coming in around Sanibel / Cape Coral area at a 4
Then to wait and see if it cuts across the state or strolls North

Good Afternoon all, I sure hope those in Ian's path are OK (glad to see Uncle and classwife posting!).

We had a T-Storm pass over us at 6am, and it was so loud I thought a truck had crashed into our house. Very scary, must have passed directly overhead.

I was talking to Innokin about the dead Sceptre but now I remember it was given to me by Skeebo. So no warranty, but I'll probably just get another Sceptre 2.

I have a recipe. @Zazie with much thanks.

    Raspy Milkshake
    Cap. Milkshake 3%
    Cap. Vanilla Milk Froth 2%
    WF Vanilla Ice Cream 2%
    FA Forest Fruit 3%
    INW Raspberry 1%
Sounds good. I may mix a sample of it.

I still don't know if my VNS had been turned on or not. It looks like I'll have to wait until I'm finished with the study, four years from now. Either way, it's now certainly turned on. I sent an email to my psychiatrist, asking if I can cut the dosage of one of my psych drugs in half. He agreed. If I do well, perhaps at my appointment in November, I can stop it altogether. That would leave me on a "normal" regimen of meds for depression, rather than me taking enough psychotropics for an entire army.
