Great that you got your data, even if not absolutely current!
Have you tried connecting the old drive to a different box? Depending on the nature of the crash, it all might be ok. My last catastrophe, a few years back was a fault on the MOBO (mother board), and old enough that repair/replacement wasn't a good option. But the drive was fine, so able to use it as a second drive, and pull everything off to the new one. Maybe?
