Morning all, I decided I'd rather have the PS5 with the disc drive as I got the one where you can only download games to it. The wife said OK and we were going to return the one I got but my SIL wants one and he is going to do a bunch of landscape work for us so I gave it to him. The new one gets here this morning.

    Morning, mixers.

Hmm, back to watching the rain, and hoping the winds don't get bad!

    Make that three :)

I'm amazed that three people in this small group have never seen it. I will admit that I probably watch too much tv. I have usually a few hours each morning on the weekends before the wife gets up and I usually binge watch during that time.

In my case, well, zombies just don't hold much interest. Lean more to true sci-fi, some "sword and sorcery". Did enjoy Game of Thrones, until the episodes out ran the books. Yeah, the ending was a bit abrupt... and the sequel/prequel, well, maybe the second season (in the fall?) will improve.

Make that four. Television? What's that? I don't even have TV service.

I had my attempted root canal today. There was too much decay under the previous crown that the tooth isn't salvageable. It's got to be pulled. They gave me an estimate of getting it pulled and getting an implant...a couple of thousand dollars, with insurance or a hundred dollars just to have the tooth pulled and no implant. It's my very back molar, so I'm not going to mess with an implant. I doubt I'll miss a back molar much.

I had a molar pulled many years ago and don't miss it. However, sometimes food does get stuck in what's left of that space so I always have floss picks or toothpicks close by.

We don't have cable any more. I pay for Youtube tv and a few streaming services. I actually like streaming way better than when we had regular service. There's always something on that I'm interested in seeing where there wasn't on cable.

I don't watch much in the way of episodic TV shows anymore. There are a couple I like but even those I tend to get easily bored with. Can't stand reality shows. The news is mostly blah and yawn (but I'm current, LOLz).

Give me nature shows (mostly ), misc stuff on PBS, the occasional documentary, interesting movies, some sports and I am very happy. Oh yeah, I'm still a sci-fi fan.

I've always loved reading. And listening to tunes. There is always music of some kind playing here.

No video game console thingamabobs, was never interested. But I did play PacMan and a few others back in the day on arcade machines!!! Ya know, old school, pop a coin in and play. LOL

Given the choice of being out in nature or watching TV... nature wins 100% of the time.

The trouble with TV news is you can watch 10 minutes in the morning and you know what's going on in the world. The rest of the day is assorted experts opining over it.

The trouble with nature is you can't turn it off or switch channels if you don't like it.

I like actual science shows, like Oak Island and Ancient Aliens. And astronomy.

Back in the 80's I was down the pub every lunchtime playing Missile Command. Luckily my boss was down there too. A few years ago I got a PC release of Missile Command, along with a trackball mouse. My fingers aren't that agile enough anymore though, after a few weeks my hands were on fire and I had to quit.

When I was a freshman in college, there was a Pac-Man game in the lounge of my dorm. We learned that if you hit the coin box with a Coke bottle (glass, not plastic) you could ring up free credits. I played so much that I developed pain in my wrist. I called it Pac-Man hand.

I had 7 back teeth pulled in 2017 and now that makes a difference when you have nothing to chew with - plus pills get stuck back there lol. I miss 'em. Was having partials made when I got a bad infection and almost died so I never got the partials.

I watched Speceballs before ever watching Star Wars, and when I did start with the OG one of my first comments was 'Hey there's Indiana Jones'. Peers at work had a good laugh. I never watched Silence of the Lambs till about 5 years after its release,

I did want to go see TopGun Maverick, but I'll have to settle for watching it at home.

For games I played Leisure suit Larry in the land of the lounge lizards on my 8 shades of green monitor, then SimCity many years later. That's it. We do have a PS4 downstairs with a nice 65 inch 4K TV, but my girls combined might play about an hour a week.

Just different strokes for different folks really.

Yeah, missing 7 teeth might make a bigger difference than one. I'd go with the partials in that case. I'd only consider implants if it was the front teeth.

I had a backmost molar yanked about 12 years ago. Human teeth should regenerate like alligator teeth do.

Researchers at the University of Southern California are studying alligators' teeth to see if doctors could one day stimulate adult humans to automatically replace a tooth if they lose one.

Alligators can regenerate a lost tooth up to 50 times. The process in alligators is so effective, the researchers found, that all of their 80 teeth are replaced an average of 50 times over their lifetime.
