Glad of your good results, BronzeGot my preventative CT scan this morning. Results are in. I'm benign. No lung cancer. A touch of emphysema and fatty liver but nothing serious or unusual. So good results.
Again, as ex smokers these low dose CT scans can be useful. They're done annually and will catch lung cancer in the early stages. Another useful thing about getting this scan now is I establish a baseline that can be used to compare with future scans. They can measure progressions to determine if there is anything to be concerned about. My insurance paid for all of it. Falls under "Preventative" benefits. Might want to check your insurance. Otherwise I think it's better part of $2K. Maybe less if I didn't have the mandatory consultation for the first visit. IMO, well worth doing. I'll post this on some other threads for people interested.
It was more to inform than anything, Fran. As ex smokers we need to take additional precautions that non smokers don't have to concern themselves with. These CT scans are conducted annually for 15 years post-quit date. Then we're basically close to a non smoker as it relates to cancer risk. A couple stats...90% of lung cancer patients are (or were) smokers. Lung cancer incidents are greater than incidents from breast, prostate, and one other prevalent cancer (I forgot) COMBINED! It's nothing to fool with.Glad of your good results, Bronze![]()

Yeah, I had no reason to believe I had lung cancer. Certainly no symptoms (but then we know how that goes). Actually, my PA asked me if I wanted to do the CT scan during my last physical. He knew I was an ex smoker. I kinda poo pood it but he sent the referral to thoracic anyway. I didn't know he did and I registered it nowhere in my mind. A few months later I get a call from the cancer center wanting me to schedule an appointment. You can imagine my reaction...Yes I know that but still glad of your results.
Turns out it was for that preventative CT scan (they have a 3-month backlog). So I said what the heck, it's free. Might as well do it. Can't hurt anything. But now that I went thru the process I'm glad I did. Have to admit it provides some peace of mind now and going forward.I mixed(5 weeks ago) a pineapple rum cocktail.
sugarloaf pineapple 4%---Jamica rum 2%.
For me it is too harsh, any ideas on how to smooth it out. I do like the flavor, but a bit harsh.
What a fast change.Wow, work is kicking my b u t t this week. It's been quite a while since I've been this busy. I had to come over to my desk and sit down for a while.
A bit of your favorite cream.I mixed(5 weeks ago) a pineapple rum cocktail.

A little too fast. I'm glad to be busy but it's going to get to the point where people are complaining and I'm not one to put up with a bunch of crap. There's only a couple of places that do what I do in town and I'm sure everyone else is busy too. What a fast change.
I have a few creams, does 1% sound good?I don't do booze flavors but first thought is a cream.
I had my first one last spring. Easy peasy. I was in and out so quickly that there was no charge for parking! I'm happy to have a baseline going forward. FWIW - Medicare Part B covers the screening if you meet the criteria (most of us do) but you do have to get the doctor referral.Yeah, I had no reason to believe I had lung cancer. I have neither, but thanks anyway.1 drop per 10mls of FA MTS Vape Wizard or TFA Smooth will tone down harshness.
Yes, I wouldn’t be afraid of 1%.I have a few creams, does 1% sound good?
