I took a stab at this View attachment 994977 View attachment 994978 a little while back.

Smells incredible.
Tasted it after a month - needs work.

That looks good!!! What was your recipe (Please)???

I have 10-12 apple flavors. Apples (depending which flavor company) can be difficult to work with. Personally, I've found less is more with just about every apple flavor. Some apples gain strength over time.

And some apples are better suited to bakery vapes. Like PUR Country Apple and FA Apple (Stark). On their own, those two are much like baked apples. A small touch of FA Fuji Apple (or another) with either one will deliver a more complex tasting apple profile.

0.25% - 0.5% FA Liquid Amber will give an apple cake mix a more convincing, and noticeable, "baked fruit" effect.

FA Brandy does the same, 0.25% - 0.75% (depending!) with zero booze taste.

Also, a little FA Walnut helps to accentuate the apple flavor (minus any nut flavor).

Okay and alrighty then, an apple mix is in the plans!!!

I'm on the fence about trying honey licorice.
Black licorice-fw-3%
Black honey tobacco-tfa-1%
Cool mint-cap-1%
Help, help, help!

I've never mixed anything using black licorice (don't have the flavor).

I do have TPA Red Licorice. It's really good with some strawberry and a small amount of a sweetener.

Personally, I would try mixing only the FW Black Licorice and TFA Black Honey tobacco on their own first. Get those to where you are pleased then add the CAP Cool Mint.

Or maybe consider using a different, more neutral, tasting tobacco flavor with the black licorice???

Thinking about honey with black licorice just doesn't sound like it would taste good (to me).

But, who knows, it might be a great vape!!!

Thank you for those tips!

Here you go,

Thank you!!! Looks like a nice mix.

When you say it needs work, what do you mean?

Needs more apple (or less), needs less caramel (or more) or something else entirely?

Apple could stand a boost or adjustments elsewhere so it stands out a little more.
As a whole, it seemed a bit muddled as is. I did get apple notes but couldn't really identify the other profiles.

Now, IRL the cake layers are described as being caramel cake and there is caramel glaze on top. I was figuring the Caramel Butter to lend to the cake layers and the Salted Caramel for the glaze.

I have read notes that Love has a cakey element along with white chocolate so tried to have that pull double duty between the cake layers and the white chocolate buttercream frosting.

Part of my problem could be my taste perception or my gear not being optimized. (tested using Dead Rabbit 3 RDA)

Simply Cake isn't a very strong cake flavor. It is a good cake but IMHO it needs the help of another cake.

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing how you would approach it!

Cool!!!

Looking at the cake photo, IMHO the apple should be tasted more out front. The cake should be tasted as "a cake" but sit behind the apple. Followed by the caramel. Correct me if I am missing something but those are the main flavors, no??? And then the rest. Right???

Maybe try it without FW Salted Caramel??? It's a fairly potent caramel flavor that can get weird over 0.75% - 1% (depending!). I use it in a few of my butterscotch/caramel bases.

Okay, here is how I would make it:

PUR Simply Cake 3%
FW White Cake 1.5%
FLV Apple Filling 1.5%
WF Caramel Butter 1%

or this:

PUR Country Apple 2%
FA Liquid Amber 0.25%
FW Yellow Cake 3%
WF Caramel Butter 1%

I would start with just the four flavors then tweak those until satisfied. Then one-by-one add one of the other flavors at a low percent (makes it easy to add more, if needed!), test and then add another. Wash, rinse, repeat as needed.

Just my thoughts!!!

I made this a couple years back but have since changed the percentages and swapped a couple flavors.

Caramel Apple Crumble Cake (link to original recipe + notes).

New version:

FW White Cake 3%
WF Crumble Topping 0.5%
WF Vanilla Cream Extra 1.25%
VTA Fresh Milk 0.75%
FA Apple (Stark) 1.5%
FA Fuji Apple 0.5%
FA Caramel 1.5%

The apple profile is out front (but not in your face), followed by the crumble cake, creamy base (WF VCE + milk) and then a pleasing caramel tease.

@Zazie can you please add this as an alternative to the Caramel Apple Crumble Cake in your blog?
Thank you!!! :)

Looks like that could be good with a couple different fruits.

I could see a good Net tobacco with a touch of black licorice not being bad if you like black licorice. I do. I have the Stixx Haunted mixed and steeping so maybe I’ll try a touch of black licorice in it when it’s ready to use.
