Good morning. I think we’re supposed to get more rain today. It’s odd for it to rain this much this time of year.

I'll take any rain you don't want. What little bit we've gotten quickly evaporated in the heat. Another hot one today...106.

Thank goodness for AC. Hope you don't have to go out.

I do have to go to town to pick up my mother who's dropping off her car for repair, but that shouldn't be a problem as the ac in Belle is better than my home ac.

Is good you won't be in the heat that long. Way too hot.

    Morning, mixers.

Said to continue the warming, but NOT to levels seen elsewhere, thank you!! Still no rain.

Everything I come up with on my own tastes like dirty dishwater

Too many flavors without one being in focus? That can sometimes muddy up the mix.

@ShowMeTwice Did you sft the WF Pastry Cream? If so interested in what you think of it.

This morning before chores I did a 5ml SFT of WF Pastry Cream at 2%. LOL, 2% = 0.1g / think it was like 8 drops. IMO that doesn't require any steep time whatsoever.

I love my creams, most of my recipes use two. IMO creams help to make nearly every mix taste better. Even a tiny amount (0.25% - 0.5%) can turn a ho-hum mix into one that is vibrant and excellent. I am a huge fan of the Wonder Flavour creams, no two are alike, all are awesome.

WF Pastry Cream: It's a lovely tasting cream, very nice mouthfeel, not heavy, sweetness sits at about the mid-point, rich, no off-notes, has some moistness.

Describe it in one word? Heavenly.

Is WF Pastry Cream a crème pâtissière? IMO, absolutely yes. But, the answer also depends. A crème pâtissière is basically a custard filling. It's not a custard in the way of CAP Vanilla Custard v1, FA Custard Premium, INW Custard or any of the others. Those to varying degrees feature some level of egginess which is experienced by way of taste. A decent pastry cream should not have that note (but it is created using eggs). WF Pastry Cream has no egginess.

I can see many uses for WF PC. One could "enhance" it by adding a light touch of a custard. That would create a more complex tasting cream within a mix. Desirable IMO.

This is another 5ml SFT that I could easily vape up today. And I just might. When a flavor tastes this good off the mix, it isn't going to turn crappy with steeping (LOLx100), it's only going to get better.

Wonder Flavours created another winner with Pastry Cream!!!

It'll work ... we didn't hit our 'ideal' 1/2 way split between both 'kids'. We much closer to our son than daughter but it's still only about 1/2 hr+ drive to her place. So it'll work ... life is full of compromises.

Location, location, location ... the closer we got to Kate's the higher the housing costs were. So we did what we did because we liked the place and it came in under budget, even though we paid more than the house was worth. But that's just the market now. We had to outbid two other offers already on the table.

You had me at no 'egginess'. I will try my sft today.

    Hope you like them.

    Thanks, as do I.

Has anyone tried the VSO flavors?
