Thinking it has to be CAP, FW or TPA.

Especially, considering nearly all the commercial vendors used those three back in the day.

I know at least one commercial vendor who still only uses those three exclusively. Mainly due to their cheap cost, quick delivery, and profit margin.
Thank you, SMT!
That is pretty much what I was thinking.

A couple of others that I was wondering about are Purilum and Real Flavors. Purilum is inexpensive but I don't know their timeline offhand. I don't know much about Real Flavors at all.

I'll have to dig a little bit to be sure, but out of the "Big Three" I believe Cap is the only one with discontinued chocolate flavors from that period.

    Somewhere between here and there
Thanks. As for FW, they do not have a chocolate that could be in SOD unless it was discontinued. I think they might have used FW Yellow Cake with some other vendor's chocolate. But which one?? that is the question.
I read through that thread and it sounds like a lot of their recipes were kind of simplistic.

It wouldn't surprise me if Vape Wild's donut recipe was a simple two flavor mix plus sweetener.

Something like: FW Yellow Cake, the mysterious chocolate and a sweetener.

Purilum has been around for over 60 years.

Real Flavors, I don't know when they started. I am having difficulty finding that info. I seem to recall buying some of their flavors in 2015-16. And I thought they went out of business (???). Even though DIY Vapor Supply (Michigan) is still selling RF (old stock???). IDK.

Of the commercial juice makers that have released, or publicly discussed, their recipes, all used only CAP, FW and TPA.

Matt Topolski, lead mixologist and head of R&D, at Charlie Noble released 6 of their older recipes (so far). Some of those were very popular. With the FDA BS they decided to discontinue certain recipes. 5 of those use all CAP, FW and TPA. 1 uses those along with FA Watermelon.

At one time Matt was very active in the DIY community, he helped countless many (including me) with many tips.

Oddly, they didn't list chocolate as a primary flavor,

Yeah, who knows what the marketing person(s) were thinking when they wrote that.

While not mentioned as a primary flavor, they do mention both "velvety chocolate" and "chocolate glaze".

I suspect the powdered sugar is more than likely one of the CAP, FW or TPA sweeteners. Just a gut feeling.

I'm curious, in one of your tests, have you tried FW Yellow Cake, a chocolate (CAP, FW or TPA) and 1% (or more) sweetener yet?

It would not surprise me if SOD used ~20%, or more, total flavorings.

i dunno, just tossing out some thoughts............

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Sort of.
Just a touch of YC in one.
I was feeling things out a bit but thinking that the chocolates looked potent so tried them low.

It did not remind me of an Entenmann's chocolate donut, 'twas so-so.

IIRC Walt showed up late 2015 and eventually sold it all to diy-ejuice in BC, Canada. It was odd as they sold raw/extracts, PG, and VG based.

Also of note, FW did not have Glazed Doughnut out yet at the time.
    But I tried it anyway.
