He should have someone in his place that can prevent the goof off happening.
The eclipse has started, about 45 minutes from peak. I don't know if I'm close enough for any darkness, especially since the path of totality may be narrower than originally predicted.
We got to 99% of the sun eclipsed. It didn't get dark but it was noticeably dimmer. Funny thing is that I had some packages delivered to me right at the time of the peak. The poor girl delivering them wasn't my regular carrier but the clerk who had been my temporary supervisor. The regular carrier was off. I felt bad for having non-essential (ie non vapemail) packages come to me today.
Success to report here. We got 4 mins. We checked the park half an hour in advance and there was nobody there except for the crew who mow the grass. Bit of bad timing there. So we watched it in our yard. Quite exciting. All the dogs in the neighborhood started barking but I think that was just from people cheering and fireworks going off. For a change nobody was firing guns.
The estimate for eclipse visitors to Indy went from 200.000 yesterday, to a million this morning, and now after the event the official count is 125,000. The crowd estimators are almost as good as the weather guys.

Good evening. We got 85% coverage or so. It dimmed but wasn’t dark. I got to go out a few times and look at it.
Heather works for a school and got the special phone lens from the school free.
