Good morning. Much warmer today headed for 43. This is my first full week of work since before Christmas and it’s wearing on me. Still not quite at 100%. At least a got a good amount of work in yesterday so I can stay busy.

Busy is good, retired is better.

I don’t have the experience to say for sure but think you’re probably right. I figure that if I have to be at work then I’d rather be busy so the day passes quicker. I’m only 54 but retirement is looking pretty good to me. I have to go to 67 to get full retirement.

Last night I got a Windows update called 24H2. Afterwards I couldn't connect to the internet. Tried everything I could think of. Then got on the wife's PC and searched the internet. It's been happening with 24H since Oct. and it's one on a list of dozens of problems with 24H. There were some scary solutions involving the registry and drivers, but they often fail and revert back after a few days. I rolled it back and now it's fine. I set Windows to only install security updates for now.

This happened to me this morning, after update, nothing worked. After quite a few frustrating attempts, as a last resort, removed power supply (all in one), waited five minutes plugged back in and it rebooted fine. Everything is working, as of now.

Interesting. I did turn mine off a few times but probably not for 5 minutes. Multiple folks online mentioned odd things they did which resolved problems, but I didn't see that one. Maybe I'll give it a try. Be warned though, several fixes worked but went bad again after a few days.

The internet problem seems to be linked to certain network hardware in the PC, mainly certain Realtek devices which is what I have.

I also had a problem a few times where the screen became unresponsive and I had to ctrl/alt/del to reboot. which is another 24H symptom.

Please note: I did not turn mine off (well I did but it didn't help)
I disconnected it from the power supply.

Not sure I understand. Do you mean unplug it? I have a regular tower PC.

Unplugging from the wall should be the same is disconnecting from the power supply. As in removing any source of power to the mother board. The 5 minute wait is so any internal capacitors can drain down, getting rid of any last vestiges of voltages, other than the battery backed CMOS that keeps time and basic boot instructions.
