Good morning random folks. It's a cold and rainy day. It's currently 48⁰ and has been raining since early morning with some thunder and lightning. This doesn't bode well for the installation of the pad for my home on Tuesday. I've been ordering stuff from Amazon for the new place and have already packed a few boxes. My living room looks like an explosion occurred at the post office.
Here are the two crabapple trees in the back yard that I got a couple pictures of before the latest thunderstorm. The first is an Indian crabapple and just makes little berries. The second one makes real crabapples which are kind of a pain.

Good afternoon, mixers, hoping that you and yours are doing well
I finally got around to having a try at making my own Clapton wire this week and had some success today.
Not trusting my eyes and hands (at least for now), I took a stab at making my own Daedalus styled "machine",
My first attempt was a couple of days ago at a dual core which was not successful. Dual core is my main goal but I figured maybe I had just better start out with a single core until I find out if my machine is practical.
I modified the machine (need to name it!) a little bit and made an adjustment here and there and tried a single core this afternoon, which came out pretty good. I still need to work out a bug or two but it is promising.
This is about the best close-up picture I could get with my phone camera,
Nichrome 26g core/34g wrap.
I think I got enough done for two coils before things started getting a bit too buggy and figured that I'd better stop for now.

Last year we picked a couple of buckets of them and gave them to my brother in law to set out for deer that come into his backyard.
I went earlier and did the grocery shopping. The wife is a little bit better today but I figured she should still rest.
