    Morning Mixers! Just checkin' in. Doing okay....still struggling to make sense of several losses, but I guess it's just the way it goes. And we ALL do go....but these clusters can knock you to your knees. 8 now since November.

    Extreme heat sucks!

    Hugs to the real mixers! :wub:

    Here is my peace and haven....coffee and books to go along with it. The mushrooms were made by a close friend. I'll show them lit up also. Hope you can see them.

    Not sure what it's called but pretty sure it's one of those places were all homes are a replica of one another. Basically corporations buy plots of lands and then put on 100 or so of the same houses to sell / rent them out at a profit.
    The question was for Katmar.

    Those type of homes are called "cracker box houses". They first became popular after WWII. I grew up in one.

    Do you mean cookie cutter? That's up north what they are called, except my plan is all manufactured housing. So many different styles throughout.

    Wasn't sure about this but as she just said they're manufactured / mobile ones. So that would be called a trailer park in the USA I believe.

    Basically companies buy land, drop 100 premade homes on them and then upsell that or rent it out to people for a profit. Like blackrock etc does...
    They are not mobile. Not a single one. Kindly step out of the conversation. Are you now over in the main forum to cause trouble? I wouldn't if I were you.

    Hanging in. Out of hospital into rehab, not sure for how long.

    Yes, reading, not much posting. But (slowly) on the mend.

    Cookie cutter is the term I'm familiar with. When I was a kid we didn't have town homes, just row homes.

    I was trying to figure out what those metal towers in the background were, until I realised they were chimes hanging off your deck.

    :lol::lol:

    I have quite a few chimes. My dad used to make them all the time. They bring me comfort, too.

    Growing up in the UK most houses were row type. The middle class got to live in semi detached houses. You had to be pretty well off to live in a detached house.

    I used to go camping in Wales a lot. Wherever you went you would see row houses, like a dozen houses long. Even way out in the rural areas miles from anywhere. People just liked to cluster together. Saw a funny thing once. Tom Jones came from rural Wales. After he became famous and got money he bought a "mansion" in Wales. It was a converted old block of a dozen row houses sitting on a big block of land. Guess it made him feel at home.
