Good morning. I’m tired and sore this morning but expected it. The first day back after time off is never fun.

Especially when the time off involved near-constant heavy labor.

Made some progress with my bee problem. Did a bit of free consultation on Next Door then continued on Google. Seems they are yellow jackets. They are the only species that will colonise mole tunnels. They survived the spray I dumped on them last night so I ordered a few cans of stuff that is designed for yellow jackets.

We have two types of yellow jackets, those that nest in buildings and those that nest underground. The latter have a terrible temper and when they attack they follow you for a longer distance compared to those that nest in buildings.

Good evening random folks. I'm in Fatima, Portugal. We stopped at a town with a historic church with a Eucharistic miracle, had Mass there and then went on to Fatima. In the garden of the historic church there was a beautiful bird of paradise plant blooming in the garden. I took a picture of it but it didn't come out very good. We toured the shrines and basilica of Fatima and tomorrow we'll have Mass here. This is a picture of the solid gold crown atop the shrine. It has 150 pounds of gold in it, all financed through pilgrim donations. There are millions of pilgrims from all over the world that come here.

The day went ok. Not too bad after being off. No outside work is happening tonight. I do need to do my PT exercises. I haven’t done any since last week.

I submitted what I believe to be my final PT bill to our health reimbursement account so they can pay it directly to the hospital. It’ll be nice to be done with that part of it.

I might wait until the weekend to do the other gate. I need to figure out what I still need and get everything else returned so I can start parking my car in the garage again.
