K..... i drilled a new wick hole so my mesh u-wich goes right between posts...the third hole that i nolonger use i drilled larger to accomodate a juice bottle tip for quick filling, found a nice plug for the fillhole, i closed off the main airtube and drilled a 1/64th airhole in top cap, when i aim that hole at the wick i get insane amounts of vapor !!

But the draw is a bit too airy and flavor a bit muted....hmmmm need to find a small tube to lessen diameter of air hole, other tan that, its now an official genesis system and works great and drilling the fillhole larger was the best modification yet since running mesh
Deez. Any chance you can post some photos of the mod you made to your RA?

important to note, this is the v2 , the v3 already has wick holes that go thru the posts s. all you would have to do on a v3 is drill a larger fill hole and find a suitable plug.

on my v2 i had to add a wick hole behind the posts, the left over wick hole i drilled larger for juice bottle filling.

I used a 1/16" hole for air hole in the cap, i find it too airy but tons of vapor, still need to play around with air hole size and want to run dual coils.

finally got my mesh in! i ordered a square foot of 400 and 325. I'm thinking of using the 325 cause i've been using boba's in it. i was curious though how much mesh do you need to make a wick? I was thinking of doing a kind of ark going from one of the wick holes to the filling hole on the other side of the posts. I mean i got plenty of mesh to mess around with but very little time to tinker so i wanna trying to get it going good the first time hahah

The length of mesh is easy to figure out, its the width that takes some experimenting... the first one i rolled was probablly 3/4" strip, it ended up being too skinny of a wick(and u wanna roll them tight) so i ended up having to add about another 1/2" strip to it and roll it over the skinny wick.

my second wick was just right, i eyeballed about an inch and a half width, ended up working out good...You want the wick to fit snug in the hole to prevent leaking. you can always add or remove material so just play around with it.

When u make your bend in the wick it will kink if your not careful. I roll my wick on a peice of flexible wire, then shape it with the bend i want, oxidize it well (burn till it glows orange) after oxidizing u can pull the wire out and the wick will have retained its shape.

the wire i use for this is one of those twist tie wires that comes with electronics thats used on the cords. just remove the plastic coating.

also had a thought. I think my 1/64" air hole is way to airy but have read some like em even way bigger. Im assuming the people who like the bigger hole inhale directlly to there lungs, where as I pull a mouthfull before inhaling, this assumption may help u decide what size air hole to drill if u decide to go that route.

I cant get my picture to upload for the life of me! But i gotta say, i tried the mesh NOW I'M A BELIEVAAHH!!! hahah. Wasn't too much of a hassle. I forgot one of the most important rules with my first attempt, measure twice cut once hahaha. It took a while for me to adjust the wire enough so i wasnt getting any hot spots. i actually completely fried my first coil attempt, but now.....now its un-freaking-believable. i got it at about 2.8 ohms. All the stuff you hear about better flavor, vapor, TH, ect. is true! I'm going to keep trying to get that picture up because good lord my rig is ghetto hahah. I even dropped my plug for one of the holes into the tank  I was 100% convinced it wasnt going to work when i finished it hahha but its working great. i need to get more wire before i can make a new one but if its working as good as it is with my lack of dexterity, then i cant wait to set up a new one and try to make it as perfect as i can.

bottom line GET MESH!!

these tanks vape at 3.0 volts like my cartos vape at 5 volts :)
I got mine today also made a wick and did a a5/4 wrap coil. Ijust knew i was going to have a problem, but to my surprise it fired up with no hot spots or shorts there is about a 1/16 inch gap between the posts and the wick& coil. Great flavor and tons of vapor. I highly recommend anyone thinking about getting this device to pull the trigger you wont regret it.

Hi again, does anyone know why I am getting so harsh of a vape with my ratank, I'm using it on a lt, tried different voltages, and i've even tried all of my diff nic level juices right down to 6mg, still makes me cough, when i set it up, i did it like the post on here, ss 400 mesh, which seems to be wicking fine, and five wraps of kanthal a-1 awg 32 wire, could this be caused by an improperly oxidized mesh? I didn't have a torch, so I used a bic lighter, got it hot, and cooled it 3 times, put juice on it, then burned the juice off, then did my coil, anyone know how I can set it up so I don't choke and cough every toot I take? Should my whole coil get red hot when I'm firing it?

Hey Dan, sounds like there could be hot spots on the coil making that happen. Without the top cap on fire it and see what is glowing red or how quickly its going red. If the coil is fine but the leads from the post are getting red pull it closer to the post to stop it. If the wick wasn't oxidized the mod wouldn't fire it because of a short. The ideal way it should fire is taking quite a bit 10-15 seconds to glow red. Once it gets to the glow stage everything should come to red about the same time. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, I'm not an expert on these just lots of trial and error. Hope that helps!
