Yes J-Ray I will be tryin that stretchy thingy for future wick sessions :)

Thanks bro. Glad you liked the vid :)

Well done supe.....

Dude you touched the rayon with wet fingers.. Well that went better than I expected. I usually avoid that myself, the fibers always stick to my fingers and pull. But It may be because it's always juice on my Fingers. Lol.

Rayon wicks after 20mls of Custard, that's where the coloration is coming from, no burning or gunning of the wick/coils.

Fairly dry..

I'd planned to rewick my Fogger V4.3 and try some in it but I've done something I've never done before with my Kayfun, I vaped just 1 flavor all day long. It isn't way better than it was with cotton but I'm still getting full flavor through my second tank. With cotton there was the very faint but persistent taste of cotton and the gradual decrease in flavor which had me putting in a new wick after 3 tankfuls. Not so with CC. I'm almost done with my second tank and the flavor is as strong as it was when I started. I think I'll rewick after the 3rd tank just so I can inspect the wick and compare to my cotton builds.

I'm going to finish off my Fogger for sure tomorrow and try CC in it.

Wow tbev that is excellent!! So clean on that custard. You are Most definately doing it right.

Dude your avitar is hilarious. There's actually people out there that look like that.

For those taking notes, when you get the pure flavor and clean coils you are doing it right. And using the correct amount of raw product.

Yeah, the little bag is probably all cotton and not rayon. Just wish they had the 40 foot size instead of this huge 500 foot box. If anyone wants some, just PM me with your address and I'll send you an envelope with some rayon rope. I'll have to check to see how much I can send and still keep it under an ounce.

-Pete

edit: about 3-4 feet weighs less than a half oz. I'll have to get some stamps...

So these only come in huge boxes? That's a turn off for me.

I've found rayon to still give that dry feeling to the flavor.. I'm glad many are enjoying it. I wish I could. I hate rewicking cotton so much.:(
See, I get that dry feeling from cotton. I have been searching relentlessly for the perfect (or even workable) wicking material, to no avail. Each type has negatives that I can't get past. Cotton seems to irritate me. (throat irritation, and that dry/scratchy feeling... even with the expensive Koh Den Go or whatever) Silica gives me no ill effects but just mutes the crap out of flavor for me. ReadyXWick is good but isn't absorbent/doesn't retain juice well. Bamboo is ok but is tricky to worth with. Hemp has a weird flavor note and doesn't work well in my tanks.

LOLOL..Rin- we seem to have a lot in common. I was just searching the forum for other wicking products because I also get a dry, off taste with cotton. I've used organic both cotton balls and SnC yarn, boiled in stilled water and tried w/out boiling and still get a scratchy throat, off taste and dryness. I think I'm just sensitive to cotton overall.

KDG has been better than other cottons but I seem to get the best taste with silica which I still wonder how safe that is so I'm desperately looking for something different.

And I'm thinking this Cellucotton stuff is't organic and has bleach/chemicals so I'm assuming the taste is going to be like regular cotton balls. I could be wrong, but considering what it's intended purpose of what it is used for (catching drips from perms in beauty shops), it probably has been treated with some chemicals in some way, I would think.

Lol... Girl, are you stalking me?
Yeah... That's why I was thinking about getting the tencel stuff mentioned way back in the thread. It's chemically treated but supposedly with a safe chemical. I mean, anything wick related is probably treated with something... and I plan on boiling whatever I get. Can't be too safe with stuff you're inhaling. I get crap flavor from silica, personally.. MUTE city.

You wrong and if you're having bad tastes with all the materials your using it's probably because your having wicking problems period. If you wick your attys right they would bring enough juice to your coils and that would be the only thing that you would be tasting. Learning proper wicking methods, with any medium is harder than building coils etc. Spend some time Re researching how to properly wick a certain atty you have / like and practice till you get it right.

Additionally you might be allergic to pg or something like that if your getting scratchy a throat.

"You wrong"?? I'm wrong about what. I've tried wicking materials in various devices. I have a much more sensitive palette than most people... The same reason I am super picky about the eliquids I vape. Just because you or people in general don't have these issues, it doesn't mean that I'm wrong.
When I remove the wick, it's not burnt. I've done plenty of research, thus the reason I found this thread to begin with.

The great thing about vaping is we can choose what we want and try to make it as safe as possible versus cigs/BT that don't give a crap about us. The hard part is trying to figure out what is the safest thing to use that also provides great flavor and taste.

I always wonder if even boiling gets out the chemicals in some of this stuff or what happens once wicks are heated to high temps. Who knows but I'd rather be safe than sorry and get something like popcorn lung or whatever.

Silica does at times mute flavors but I don't get a funky taste, dryness or scratchy throat like I do with cotton. But, I feel like there's got to be something better than silica out there.

i don't get a weird taste with Silica either... just mutes the flavor for me. Maybe it was where I got it. I didn't mess with it too much before moving on. It's a shame that ReadyWick isn't more absorbent as I do get good flavor from it and it's super easy to clean. I still am interested in this Rayon stuff but it just kinda scares me. It seems to be relatively new for use in vaping.

I'm with ya there but I do have some being PIFed to me and I'm at least going to try it out and see if there's a significant difference between this and reg organic cotton. I will def keep you posted.

What attys are you using, some definitely give a wetter vape, the fogger v4 for example ;I get a very wet vape that I enjoy, additionally what ohm range do you operate in, that could definitely have something to do with it.

I rotate 2 byLeo Drippor Pros and a byLeo Sophia between 1.5-1.8. I'm not a sub ohm'er, yet ;) The premade cups that came with them, in silica, had great vapes but like Rin stated sometimes muted (mainly in the Sophia, not the the Drippers).

ETA- sry, I think you were asking Rin

Protank 2, MiniProtank, Trident Clone, Omega clone, Taifun Clone, IGO-L.

When I say I'm getting a dryness.. I mean in my throat... not in the wick. I know a dry hit is typically caused by user error.
