thanks! i ordered from amazon twice, but received cotton both times. listing clearly states "100%rayon fibers," but they sent me cotton anyway. i was just wondering if there was any other sites that sell it. Thanks for your help!

If you live in the states PM me your address and I'll send you some no charge. All I ask is you pay it forward to someone one day.

In addition to the kindness of "Slick" if you go here: http://stores.sallybeauty.com/ and select the "Store Locator" you can buy the 500 ft. box for about that same as the 40 ft + shipping.

That's assuming you live in the U.S.A. It is pretty hard to not have a "Sally's" close buy. I live in the middle of the Utah desert and there is a Sally's 2 miles from my house.

Newbie here. This stuff is awesome. Just did some mini pt2's. Very easy to work with. Much more vapor, flavor and nic. Soaks up vg very fast. No dry hits or burnt taste yet.Very clean. Thanks guys.

Just wait until you try to use one of your factory PT coils with silica. After a couple of minutes you will be rebuilding it with rayon even if you are not in the mood to do a rebuild. Caveat; Rayon is addictive. ;)

ive wicked my kayfuns the same way ive seen in recent pics here, with less, then much less, then more, and i cant get this rayon to wick and i cant get it to not mute flavor. im back to cotton for now. the local shop is wild about this rayon stuff so ill see if the kid there can help me, although i tried his kayfun wicked with it today and the flavor is still not on par with my cotton builds yet. i keep trying but even with a syringe im getting real tired of draining and filling kayfuns. and i still lose a little juice each time. not sure what to do now.

Do you think it will last as long as this:

Patience is a virtue.

There's no saying the kid at the b&m got it right either. There is a number of factors that need to be aligned to reach the potential. This is different than cotton. Sounds like you have it too tight in the coil or not enough power. You have to check the tightness in the coil after a while.

Once you get the density in the coil right and the tails trimmed right then you need more power because it's a lot more saturated than a cotton build... Maybe your used to a more burnt tasting vape and you've become accustomed to it. Some Juices like to be burned causing gunk on the coil. If you happen to like that better for your juice that's fine. Different strokes for different folks.

If you want help with the rayon ask some questions or post some pics of your build. If figuring it out is too much trouble for you then just stick with cotton if you wish.

Let's not get the wrong idea here I want it to work. And I'm talking over 10 builds in the past two days. I'm almost fully convinced it will be better and I want it to be. I'm just having a hard time. And I don't see anyone else with a kayfun having such a hard/finicky time with it. I'll post some pics later. Thanks.

Well be happy to help you. Actually many have had trouble with the kayfun. Some get it right away, some struggle. I think it really comes down to an individual's natural wicking style. We all have a different way we handle wicks and some are naturally more in-tune with how the wick will work or the art of it. It can be frustrating like when you first tried to learn cotton. This is a kin to starting all over again and learning a new wick. The most recent pics in the thread have been troublesome kayfun wicks. You can tell right away if you have coil density right. The flavor will be very clean.

When you say more then less are you talking in the coil or the tails. You'd be smart to try to vape it dripper style for a bit to see how it is before you partially fill a tank for a trial run. A pic of a fresh wick and importantly after 4-8 hours or the point you have issues is most helpful.

I had a kayfun lite v1(clone) before i tried rayon, and had so much trouble with it leaking and dry hits i got rid of it.
Just ordered a kayfun 3.1 and im hoping ill have better luck this time with rayon.

sig-153231.jpg

For what it is worth I have KF 3.1 that I had stopped using. When this rayon thing hit the scene I gave it a try and now use my 3.1 all the time. No leaks, no dry hits... etc. The only problem is I occasionally vape it to the empty point... doesn't seem to hurt the rayon but until I notice what the problem is I find myself saying "Oh no it is going to act up like it used to do" - NOT just need to check the level once in awhile.

PS - The 3.1 has a leak trap so you won't get leaks out the air holes even if it does leak. When I was using cotton or (God forbid) silica when I opened the juice trap it would be almost full with rayon it is more like a little condensation.

Here's my latest Kayfun build
Kayfun clone 3.1 ES 2mm ID / 8~9 wraps / 1.4Ω

I tried thinning the tails, I don't know if how thin the tips actually are will come through the pictures.

kf_thin_side.jpg

It was a 'leap of faith' to go this thin, as I fear dry hits...but it works!
Now to see how many tanks it takes to gunk the coil...
As I type this, I'm finishing off the second tankful.
Usually by now or the next tank, I'd be getting an off or burnt flavor, but all seems well so far.

Thanks for all the tips! :vapor:

Alright can't wait to try the kf 3.1 with rayon, going to be using it on my nemesis for now (got the parts for a 120w raptor box ordered also!)
I've been running with my igow for the last few days .5ohm dual twisted 30 gauge. Thinning them tails is a pain currently using nail clippers. I've been shipping half the wick as close to coil as i can from the side, then about a 1/4 of the wick from the top gets trimmed to coil. (takes me 2x-3x times longer to wick than coil lol)
With a variety of juices still going strong ill post pics when i change it.

"Leap of faith" :)

I know it defies all current (pre-rayon) logic on wicking. But this stuff is more different than cotton than people realize and that causes some issues with new users in the community.

It really sucks up the juice huh! Think of a tree with roots. The trunk turns to thin roots at the spot it widens to go into the ground.

The goal is to trim it at the point that is just in the middle of the bend down. Slightly angled, Leaving a thin root looking wick going rest of the way down. If you trim it right it will cascade down like a water fall. The amount of roots you leave varies depending on the build atty and power.

A standard measure in my mind is the main full wick shouldn't be any longer than a standard kanger bcc wick, the rest past that point is thinned down.
