Can someone tell me where the rayon is in Sally's? I looked high and low through every aisle and could not find it. So I asked the nice lady behind the counter, she had no clue as to what I was talking about. Rayon, cellucotton?

Ask for the stuff they use to wrap a ladies head when they do a perm so the chemicals don't run down her face. :)

I vaped two tanks on that atty and when I opened it (dry) I was shocked to find both the coil and wick absolutely pristine... Not even yellow. It was all shiny and white just as the day I built it.

I hear you, I can't for the life of me understand why folks are still fighting with cotton......:2cool:

I'm new to vaping, after ready Jeremy's post many weeks ago, there isn't a problem with wicking or dry-hits with any gear I have up to 40w's.

Haven't tried to vape gear oil, but I'm sure rayon would wick-it.....:D

Have a great weekend....Tony....!

Welcome Inspects! Nice to meet you...

Glad you like it and figured out how to get it to work as a newer vaper.

If you inspect' the wick, you will understand it and be successful.

I don't get it.. I guess people that have never lit up a cotton ball call burning to ash melting... Anymore I just ignore these things.. I ha e no need to waste my time with ridiculous comments.

We have achieved world wide acceptance enough that there is no stopping it.. Only people with their heads in the sand..

Rayon wick.. Oh my god its the incarnation of Satan's baby!

The Sally's I went to it was on the top shelf all the way back in the right rear of the store. I asked a gal if they had any and she took me to a different section that had small bags of cotton coils and she told me that was all they carried. I wandered the entire store and found it myself so don't take someone's word for it, just make sure it says 100% Rayon on the box. You could go to the Sally's website, print out a pic and their item number for the boxes of Rayon and ask them to check the item number and see if the show any in stock before wasting your time searching the store.

I just checked the 500 foot box I have, this is the pure rayon, NOT with the reinforced with the paper stripe inside, Sally's item number SBS-580006 for $11.50 --> Graham CelluCotton Cotton Coil 500 feet

ETA: I screwed up! You DO NOT want this one, it's cotton! They have 10 foot bags item number SBS-580100 for $2 --> Graham CelluCotton Cotton Coil

And they have the really big box item number SBS-580008 for $15 --> Graham Sanek CelluCotton 100% Cotton Coil

To be honest IMO most of them are Listening to so called vaping hierarchy, that spew fear mongering.. Some of the uppers don't want to accept that someone besides them, or evolve, came up with a vape changing idea.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I have heard some people say that they can taste rayon. I guess their taste buds are very sensitive or they just think they can taste it. I suppose they can't taste cotton. But, overall, it's just another option and offer more choices. I love rayon wick and am just about done with anything that has a wick that isn't rayon.

Long live rayon wick!

Well here's a coil I tried on the flash e-vapor... Instead of my normal parallel coil, I tried a dual coil. It was relatively difficult and turned out pretty ratty. It vapes pretty good considering the looks of it. :)

32g 1.4 ohm twisted legs..

I should have went one less wrap on the outside coil to compensate for the legs.. The secondary coil doesn't get as hot as the primary.

Been quiet round here.. Maybe we got a little negative in regards to other threads...

I want to copy a post here with my reply to the mysterious "melting" wick... I'm sure most of us regular, longtime users know what happened...

Well... I already ran into a person in parallel who seems to have gotten their education on Rayon from the recent "other thread" and they were spreading the same falsities to others. This is why I get involved, and I try to be nice about it... as much as I think is reasonable anyhow.

Guys,

I don't know what negative posts you are talking about (hope it wasn't me) but when someone mentions rayon melting IMHO some polite but strong messages should be posted that Rayon doesn't melt.

My reasoning is if they are using something they think is rayon and whatever they have melts I feel pretty safe in saying that it is something very likely to be dangerous to their health - that's for sure.

I was delighted with your post which proved that rayon "decomposes" at an even higher temperature than cotton.

What the Op is saying is under the type of vaping they prefer to start with, Temp control adds no noticeable Value.

Oh, and Cellucotton does not burn. It Melts.:)

They have since retracted 'Melts' and are saying 'decomposes'...

Correction to term used - Decomposed, not melted.

Nice video:
Dry Burn test - Plastic can also be ignited it the Flame/temp is right.

Now, In tank(MINE) Orchid .6ohm dual coil - Full, on Stingray. Mistake made. Sat Mod in Stand, not fully locked.
Reached for mod a minute later - Scalding Hot, WET, e-liquid running from air channels Vapor wisp out tip.
Into Refrig to cool, over to sink to tear down and inspect - Tank still 1/4 full, everything a wet mess.

No ignition, No Dried out chamber, NO wicks in sight - at all. i.e. (edited - Decomposed) - Below Flash point. <*no soot in chamber or on base*>

Did you not notice the Coil test. The Rayon was contracting to the coil, even dry, before it finally reached flash point. i.e. xxxxx (Edited - Decomposed).
Most things will Burn under the right conditions.
Vaping creates High levels of Formaldehyde - under the right conditions.

Thermal properties: Viscose rayon loses strength above 149°C; chars and decomposes at 177 to 204°C. It does not melt or stick at elevated temperatures.

RAYON FIBERS

Anyway, I had to replace the missing wicks to get back to using that tank.:D

I think that they read 'decomposes' to mean it dissolves, waiting on a response... but I think most people will be able to read the truth from the BS. I sure hope someone doesn't interpret what was written to suggest that it creates 'High levels of Formaldehyde'.

And jimmybd, I was waiting for some support before I continued to define what he saw.. Thank you..

Oh and a double thanks for pulling up some facts! I get burned out on it at times. Its been a long road. :)
