Oh don't worry. We know perfectly what you mean. I'm dealing with the DNA40 cheerleaders myself in my own twisted way :D

I'm watching that thread from a distance, and even then I had put one guy on ignore so that I could stop kicking my dogs.*

BTW, curiosity got the better of me and I ordered a clone VF to compare with the real thing here.

* no labradors have been harmed over the DNA40

Does the Ohm law apply here? mAh times Volts = MilliWatt / Hours

Roughly AMD, except WHr (*should*) already accounts for the diminishing voltage across the discharge curve. Given our use cases, we could in-deed say VA-Hr... but W consumed is not always simply V*A especially not the nominal V ;)

I would appreciate your thoughts on the clone. I was tempted to purchase a clone for comparison purposes myself, just like I did with the Erl and the KF4.

Well, my delving into a Kayfun 4 was a bust, due to the original spring not playing well at all with my Hana DNA40, so I had to place it aside for the time being... :( Thjat said, however, my Squape Reloaded's been runnin' like a champ! 5/32" contact coil at 0.12Ω, set such that the legs are at the bottom of the coil (coil being above the deck), wicked with rayon (of course!) on the standard deck. I've pushed ~125mL of e-liquid through it with no issues. Some light crusting on the coil (easily cleaned off), wick is quite clean.

The best part is that I'm getting no leaks in my latest build, though my other builds would leak with the slightest overenthusiastic draw. What seems to work best for me (I live in WHYoming, at about 4500' elevation, which I think was part of my issues with wicking in my first few Squape R builds) is to set up a "two stage" wick. The "first stage" is full wick width into the juice channels to about halfway between the inner airflow chamber to the inside of the vertical juice channels. Then, at the top side of the wick, thin to somewhere between 15% and 20% of the wick's total diameter out and cut the rest off flat, perpendicular to the wick's direction of travel, then cut those the thinned tails off at the edge of the deck. When wetted, this allows the wicks to settle just slightly inside the outer edge of the vertical juice channels. Picture is while I was in the process of wiping down my coil (thus, the black flakes), and I've added some lines to clear up what I'm sure is a rather convoluted explanation, lol...

SquapeRafter125mL.jpg

Probably a bit overly complex for what I want, but it seems to work well. The thinning is actually rather obvious in the pic, at least to me, as the tails are rather translucent. I hope if anyone else has had any issues with the Squape R, and other posts in the thread haven't helped much, this will. It's a great atomizer, and can indeed work well with rayon and/or Ni200 wire. :)

Yes, yes, I know, the DNA40's got its issues, but I'm lucky enough to have received one with none of them (as yet). To touch back on some of the older posts, I agree, the tech wasn't quite ready for prime time, but I personally think Evolvapor was trying to beat both the Chinese and the potential for overregulation from governmental organizations (presuming they'll grandfather the tech in) to the market with it. I do wish they'd have used some other wire, such as tungsten (which, to my knowledge, has even less potential for health issues due to oxidation than Ni200), but, well, the vaping market is already saturated with Ni200 wire used in NR-R-NR builds, so it made sense to use something people were both familiar with, and was in ready supply. Who knows, maybe someone will come up with a board that will use a different wire. That's for the future to decide, non?

Anyway, keep on vaping, everyone! :vapor:

Will do. I'm expecting it next week and will probably give my VF to my wife so I can have a decent play with the clone.

I was expecting it to be a disaster to be honest - I mean, they never even got the DNA30 right - but it seems we were in for a surprise, if I can believe the reviews. We'll see.

I just received my Steam Tuners KF4 Spring Update this past Monday and installed it yesterday.

Kayfun V4 "Spring Update" - By Steam Tuners - SteamTuners P.C.

My KF4 used to read .21Ω or so with just the spring. It is now reading .13Ω with the sping update. That's the same ohms that my Erls read with the exact same build. The spring update works perfect!

Rayon Chia Pet:

Cindy,

That is the first time I have ever seen a ferret awake.

I love to stop by the ferret display when picking up food at the pet shop for my "Self-centered but lovable female cat". I keep hoping that one day I will stop by and actually see one of these cute little critters up and moving about.

Actually your post caught my attention because a few weeks back I was at the Vets with my cat and they had a clinic mascot cat that just wonders around greeting people and believe it or not dogs that come to the clinic.

But here is the kicker this cat had a "for real poodle cut". I don't know it the groomer that did it is still alive but it was the most adorable looking and friendly cat I have ever seen. Actually with the Poodle cut it didn't look like a Poodle but rather like a pigmy Lion.

Don't ask me why I am going on about this off topic rant... but when I saw you Rayon Chia Pet that was the first thought that flashed thru my mind.

PS - Don't worry about the House Cat Pigmy Lion. The receptionist told me they take it to the shrink once a week for "Identity Crises" group therapy.

Oh no! Then they'd look like this:

Now, tell me again what causes backflow (liquid darkening) and how to avoid it. Been getting a lot of that lately.

Thinned tails.

JAX,

First let me say if "Jeremy" reads this I'll be in trouble. I have a hard time thinning tail. I usually get carried away and have to start over. So most of the time I don't thin tails.
Now for the unknown part with fat tails sometimes I get "Backflow" sometimes not. So far I have not really been able to identify just why it happens. I have a suspicion that it is when the Atty housing is left sitting when the room or outside is cool/cold and causes excessive condensation and that condensation runs down the chamber walls and ends up passing thru the juice ports into the tank.

That's how it is with me too, but I have no theories. Before it hasn't been a problem (except in my gennies), but lately, my liquid's been looking like espresso after awhile, even in my Orchid, and I can't figure out what I'm doing differently. Hmm....maybe it's the juice... lemme try a different mix...I've vaped this mix before though.

Holman, the way I thin my tails is comb through them with a pin until I get it as thin as I want, then trim to the right length. I pinch at the coil to not thin that part down though, or sometimes I'd just thin ±half of the tails and cut the rest to a nub. Sometimes though, the problem I have with thinning is that it wicks too well and my coil gets too juicy. In my Orchid, I've been doing what AMD does on his KFs: short, stubby tails underneath with a thin combover over the ends.

I'd love to see a pic of the funky cat! :)
