No caffeine after noon for me. The mere thought of giving up coffee entirely puts me in an emotional tailspin. I never found a satisfactory coffee vape. I do like my teas, though.

Me too. I switch to green tea after noon and its much better for me.

What tea-flavored e-juices do you like?

I use TFA black tea with Inawera Rose, Flavour Art Jasmine, Flavour Art Neroli, Flavour art Ylang-Ylang, TFA Cherry Blossom, TFA Honeysuckle, Flavour Art Lavender, and TFA Violet Candy. I think that is every floral available. LOL.

I posted a while ago using rayon in a KFL+ clone and I really liked how it was working for me. I've got the UD goblin now and after two wicks with cotton I decided to give rayon a shot in it. I used a decent amount, the tails were very short and I did not thin them like the KF, because I thought I'd get some leaking if I did.

The first tank had that "nutty" taste to it, but after the second fill and a night sitting there is no wick flavor. I'm guessing this is due to a lot of rayon stuffed in the coil (used 7/64 bit). Did the rayon compress after use? I vape a lot of unflavored since it saves me money and the taste is just how it should be now. I'm nervous to use flavor in the tank since I feel I would get some gunking on the contact coil. The unflavored doesn't show any signs of it. I have two coils that reads 0.5 using 26g kanthal 8 wraps. How does the rayon hold up with liquids that can cause gunk on the coils?

And I have to add, a cup of black coffee and the unflavored liquid vape is a great flavor combo. I'm going to have to get another bottom coil vacuum style tank to try flavors.

The rayon wick holds up fine, the coil still gunks. I pull the wick and dry burn the gunk. Brush with an old toothbrush and rewick.

I do the same Paul. I wouldn't even change the wick if I could figure out how to brush the coil without tearing up the wick. A quick run under hot tap water and the wick is sparkling white.(Rayon of course).

Thank you for the replies. I never thought of a cleaning by just using hot water with the wick still in place. I was under the impression that you don't want tap water on the wicks. I've read about dry burning the coils and quickly putting under running water, I would try this, as I only dry burn now. I would consider getting a mechanical first, don't want to chance it with my regulated.

I rinse the hot coil with my iStick and IPV, just don't put the box in the trickle of water. ;) The Kayfuns burn and rinse easy, it's the Origen you have to watch where the water goes when rinsing.

My wick is always black under the coil. Does the water rinse with wick installed clean that out as well?

Matty,

Remember I was just talking about the wick and I have never had any trouble with tap water and the tap water here is so hard it has rocks in it. ;)

I do the tap water thing when the coil is mostly ok and the wick is dark and gunky or I want to change flavors with little or no cross flavoring.

I use Nickel coils so I don't dry burn but I do heat them under temperature control to about five hundred degrees put is under tap water and then brush with a toothbrush.

Thanks Holman, I understand what you are saying. It seems temperature control would be a nice plus to cleaning too. I always wanted to try a DNA40, been looking at the vapor shark from time to time.

I'll have to try the toothbrush too. I guess I could also use a 510 adaptor on my box to extend the length when rinsing. What kind of rayon are you using by the way? I've been using the Sally beauty boxed rayon.

If your wick doesn't gunk, you don't have to clean it. Replacing a wick once or twice per month is a no brainer. I usually change it once a week (Sundays) when I get some free time for myself.

I'm currently trying to enter the hall of fame so I'm on the same wick since the 9th February. Around 174ml right now I think.

Tony

Matty, I use Sally's rayon also. Sometime I use Tencel Rayon I convinced myself that it wicks better but I am doubting my reasoning ability on that one. Anyway its fun to switch around just to make sure there isn't something awesome hiding out there that I haven't tried. ;)
