So after reading this thread many times I decided to try rayon. Bought a box from sallys, they didn't have the smaller box, so I now have 3 lbs of rayon coil. Good thing I like it do far, as I now have about 10 years worth of rayon lol. Wicked up mut x v3 with a .6 dual coil tightly wrapped, have to say better flavor on all my juices do far, and even my thinner blend juices are chucking clouds like my 95% vg juice was on cotton.

Hey ABN, welcome. Glad you finally gave it a try... And are happy. Yeah its a lot but at least it was cheap.

For others reading delascos balls from thier consumer catalog are 3.00 plus shipping for like 200.. Or you can always grab a KU to try out, its clean pure rayon.

Rayon is very forgiving on density but for best performance you need to make sure its still tight after a day or whenever you run into an issue. Depending on how you wick the coil it usually ends up smaller after all the fibers mesh together with a little use.

On another note, for some of our newbies. Rayon will absorb anything on your hands. Its best to make sure they are very clean and well washed before handling. Its so devoid of flavor that anything can impart off flavors into your juice.. Especially oils from your skin..

For instance I've been vaping this new build with ku, pics later, all was well good flavor.. I pulled out the feeder wicks in the flashi and adjusted and rolled a little more.. BUT my hands weren't very clean.. Needless to say I had an off taste in my juice for about an hour of vaping..

Agree with this statement 100%. I just rewicked and filled a tank of berry blast the other day only to taste berries, menthol, and fried chicken grease :p

Well the second wick with Ku turned out just right good density and little to no break in. The fibers are clean.

Some pics. Delascos on top, you can see the sheen they have. KU on the botton, has the same dry appearance as the pharmaceutical bottle rayon.

Next I did what I used to do with the bottle rayon. Took the strip held over my fingers and rinse under low tap water 3-4 passes over is all. Dried on a paper towel.

Ku rayon on top, the rinsed Ku on the bottom. You can see it takes on the shine of the medical balls. Bottle rayon from the op was the same way.

What does it mean, maybe the balls just have another rinse, I don't know. But rinsing is not necessary.

Sitting down, facing forward.
To get an even coil, wind it on the mandrel. Just space the windings fairly even and a little further apart than you might want in the final product. After it's wound, compress it while it's still on the mandrel. Result, nice, even spacing that can be easily restored after stuffing with rayon wick.
