I LOVE my Penelope but I have been nursing the coil on it for a few weeks now and know that it will need to be replaced real soon. 10 minutes after receiving the email from COV that ready wires were in stock they were all sold out!!! I sure wish that supply could keep up with the demand for them. Oh well, resorted to buying wire from different vendors so that I can make my own. I really like the quality of the ready wires, but it appears that I will have to wait another month for them to come in stock again....

I enjoy the convenience of the ready made wires but have found I'm better served by considering them a "back-up" source and as you've done order wick and wire where more readily available. Much less frustrating, added flexibility as far as resistance coil setup as well as being pretty darn inexpensive per coil in the long run.....

Just get used to making your own, then you never have to worry... especially if your like me and have a ridiculous amount of wire.

I agree. The premade wires can be a bit fragile if you mess with them too much when learning and trying to make a nice coil. I have had to add NR wire to them when just starting out after the joint holding them together broke off. Not too fun when you finished the perfect coil. :) You will find that you have a lot more flexibility when building your own and you can tweak it to your needs better.
