Can always count on Beast to put damn gooood pictures up.
Man, just look at those pics.

MachTechVpr who's done a ton of research about the ceramic wick material says the deflection of the fibers helps this wick better. The good contact with the coil insures the wick can feed it without getting dry burns. Too loose and you'll end up with a lot of dry burns.
the left side of the coil on right has wraps that are a little to loose, notice it's not been cooking at the same rate as the right side. I got that side messed up wrestling it into a Nuppin the first time I coiled one.

FB this is a excellent description with pics to help understand the importance of good contact on the RxW. It could be the difference in someone liking the RxW or not.
I did the same exact thing last night! Good time for battery change tooSo i just took a big ole hit off one of my grands and was thinking why so dry? Then i slid the door off.... Glad its got RxW inside!!!!

I'm not a fan of dry hits on RxW either, but it doesn't harm the wick! Nice big lung hit followed by a bout of choking fits nicely with my new year's resolution to lose some belly!
Jesus H! "Trunker - are you ok?", "yeah - just exercising!"

I've gone from Pluid to Boba's with the same wick....good as new after torching.![]()
It's really gratifying to hear that some of you are benefitting from a simple tool and some of my suggestions. I do believe tensioned coils whether spaced or contact can add significantly to our experience. But all the same I'm glad this New Year to hear of your successes here in REOland. Almost makes me a believer!
Now if only we could double our community with a quick efficient technique to get to our best vape, however we wind…that would please me to no end.
Good luck all and Happy New Year.

I am a tensioned macro coiler these days. I use a 2.7 mm machine screw for a guide. For consistent tension, I am cutting a piece of wire while attaching a large vice grip on to one end, the mass of vice grip always remains unchanged for consistent tension and it dangles below a dark zero jig and I wrap toward me. It seems to work for my Odin, dual coiled at one ohm and an RM2. I use 3mm ReadyXWick, so I don't make them often.
MTV, you ought to give the Reo a try, bottom feeding has made a believer out of me, nearly indestructible, generally owner repairable and great manufacturer support with a very helpful group here.

Speaks volumes, right there.
