Yesterday, I received my DSE801HP which had claims of being 6 to 7.4volts.
I charged it overnight, and it really is STRONG. Great TH and vapor production - in fact, phenomenal vape production. Very warm vape. It's amazing.
I am wondering what's making this thing so powerful and yet nobody has tested them on a voltage meter or anything.
What's even more, it's an automatic!
Can anyone explain to this Noob how they managed it, and aside from product availability (it uses proprietary cartos and chargers, etc.) why this product never caught on?
It vapes almost exactly like an analog.
It might be perfect for some folks.
Thanks

The price and the power are definitely intriging, but "for me" nothing else quite cuts it. I'm not interested in using atty/carts any longer for daily use and there's no mention of how long a charge generally would last. Having to purchase only these attys and carts is also a negative. If they could get this kind of power in a PV that has more readily available options, and work out the issues I read in the reviews, the vaping world could indeed see a new top-runner.

Please keep us updated on your experience with it!! Good luck with it and thanks for sharing! Always interested in hearing about new discoveries!!

There definitely is that. But folks are fiddling about with their stuff all the time just by nature. For instance, I noticed that a regular sized pen padded bit would fit this.
Also, the carto is about 2 inches long at around .25" in diameter, BUT, it needs it for keeping the atty wet, which it's been doing very well.

Well, I am just as curious to know as you!
I'm dying to know if anyone has tested one of these.
There is a learning curve to using one of about eh- maybe a day. If you were completely new to the ecig world from analogs, it would be easier, as it's more like an analog in the way you have to take shorter vapes, and can't really stealth vape one. Too much TH- you just can't. It feels like a vape from dripping, without the mess.
It's also an auto (which I normally wouldn't like) but it very, very quick to pick up on a draw, how ever so slight- as long as it's an in-hale. Yes, I tried to trick it; I couldn't.

Because of it being a proprietary PV, I wouldn't feel right recommending them to a Noob as their 'Go to' PV, but I do think they would suit the right Noob just fine. Better than fine, actually.
Gobs of TH, gobs and gobs of vape.
The battery lasts about 5 hours of average to above average vaping on an overnight charge from the beginning, don't know how long after that. I haven't got to that point yet.

I am dying to know more about these!

That almost looks identical to my RN-4072.

The following 2 lines were copied from the site:

The HP atomizer is designed at a higher resistance to handle the 7.4v battery, and give the user a true 5volt experience.

The HP parts may not be compatible with 801 classic penstyle units/parts

Does it use 2 3.7 Lions regulated down to 5v? or does it rely on a high resistance coil to make it seem like 5v? (battery drop off would be quick in either case) I wonder what they mean by "may not work" that sure looks like an 801 atty. to me. An 801 atty with a cart was a good performer in its day, (much better than the 510 or 901) so this probably works great. For $30 I might just try it.

The 801 never really caught on either. I think because it was bigger than the 510 or 901. At the time people still wanted something the size of a cig. and the 801 was the size of a pen.

I believe they share the same ID. I had an old 801 back in 1999(?) and that's what got me curious in the first place. I looked the model up, and somebody told me that the 801 and the RN-4072 are the same. However, I don't know about the voltage on the RN-4072, and in, I don't know if they revised the RN-4072 to now have the higher voltage. That would be a good question. Do you know what yours is?
I can tell you that my old 801 looks exactly the same as the new one. There is no writing on the actual unit itself in either case. With the new 801HV they sent me a new HV charger and HV attys, and said that I should only use them on this model because of the HV.
I don't mind that, because I don't want to risk messing up my other chargers.

Does anyone know if I can get a volt meter to test this myself?

Is this even possible? The thing is very, very skinny and long.
If you stacked one battery on top of another, they would still have to be very, very slim batteries.

According to this website, under the specs it says the following:
Specifications:
1.Size: 115. x 11.5mm
2.Weight for single cigarette : 25g
3.Mouthfuls for each cartridge keep:150 mouthfuls
4The each cartridge: 1.1g
5.Each cartridge equals traditional cigarette :10pcs
6.Content of battery: 2x120mAh
7.Normal working voltage: 6.5-8.2V
8.Full battery can keep for: 150 mouthfuls
9.Charge time:2.5-3.0 hours
10.Life of battey: 300 times charge

Hmmmn. I don't know if they are referring to what's in the box (you do get 2 batteries), or what's running it?

You can get a volt meter at just about any hardware store, and perhaps radio shack. Make sure to get a digital one, and they aren't very expensive. It's an almost necessary piece of kit for any vaper. I like the screw on meters as well, they have those at madvapes for about 15 dollars, but they won't work with pulse batteries like the ego, or perhaps this one.

I am intrigued by this as well and would be interested to see if it's at 5v or 7.4.

Also remember a carto or cartomizer and a cart are 2 different things. A cartomizer combines and cart and atomizers. A cart is just a bit of foam or filler that sits on top of an atomizers, and is what I think you have here.

Cool find and I would love to see your results!

2 120mAh bats is probably all there is room for in that thing.

Personal opinion of course, but for the life of me, I can't think of a single reason why I would want one.
Vaping @ 7.4v is a fail in my opinion, and 120mAh most defiantly is. Even a little bitty $20 SD Keyring has 3 times the capacity.
And, why in the world would I ever want to go back to using cartridges!?!

You will find it difficult to measure the voltage when there is no button to push.
(at least I have never been able to suck on a volt meter hard enough to activate one)

    spaceOmatic,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I only vape my SS Don @ 7.4v with a HV DSE801 VaporKings atty. I prefer the warmer, bigger vapor that it produces. But I always feel a little conspicuous using it when I'm out-and-about. So this would be perfect for O-A-A vaping.

I will be ordering one soon.

What is the diameter of a 120 maH battery? If they come in different diameters, which one would be the skinniest, say, for example?

Personal opinion of course, but for the life of me, I can't think of a single reason why I would want one.

We don't know if that's a typo; for sake of argument, we have to assume it has to be.
And, why in the world would I ever want to go back to using cartridges!?!
Subjective- but, what about all the drippers out there?
They might like something like this. It's more like dripping than regular vaping, really.

I think you just saved me a world of embarrassment LOL!!!
..anyone dare me to ask 'em anyways? Ha Ha Ha

Where did you get your DSE801HP ? I love my DSE's and would love to try the high power one. Sometimes I don't get a good hit on these small ones.
