I've placed a $40 order with them and didn't get a sample....it's been the only time i've never received a sample in many many orders, why even complain? they've sent me so many samples and already have the best prices....to boot they give you nicotine in the sample, be happy you got some cheap juice and next tme make sure you make the minimium order

not sure if anyone brought this up but maybe their system is set up in a way that once the $15 threshold is reached it prints it out on a receipt for the juice makers....the juice makers may not even pay attention to the total and just make whats on the receipt, sort of like restaurant style

Not just the juice makers, but inventory. Which is why flexibility is more difficult. In addition to the outcry from the people who miss the cutoff by more than a few pennies, someone would have to be paid to track all those 'less than $15' samples should they be sent without the computer system generating the orfer for it and then manually adjust inventory. And that person had better not miss any, or there would be a whole bunch of 'Out of Stock' signs going up! :(

$15 is $15.. Your downing Mt Baker Vapor when it was 100% your fault... Wow...

No other company even gives out FREE bottles...

Yes they do. Ahlusion gives 10 ml samples for free with purchases over $20. Some limitations apply, so read the FAQ about ordering samples.

I had a Utah vendor who, before things went a bit south in Utah, provided me with four 10 ml bottles of his juice, two of which I thought were very good. I paid $0 for everything that was sent to me. I really wanted to pay for at least one bottle, and was willing to pay for all 4, but vendor wouldn't allow me to pay.

I recall a year or two ago where a few vendors would give out bottles each day for free, just cause it made good business sense to do this. Didn't need to order anything from them, and they'd give out free samples.

Which is why the MBV consumer claim that MBV is only vendor doing free samples makes one wonder if said consumer has ever gone outside the MBV world?

I placed my first order with MBV last week, and had no idea about free samples, so it was a pleasant surprise. My order was well over $15 though.

I haven't tried them all yet, but most of what I have tried is pretty darn good. Solar Flare is quickly becoming one of my new favorite juices. They shipped it quickly, and got my order correct, so I can't complain about anything. Great prices, too.

Maybe i'm at fault but i decided to place my first order for some Baker juice , i bought three to try and requested a small sample of Hawk Sauce but ONLY IF possible .

I got my order today and when i opened it i had my three bottles with a little note that said we only give a sample if your entire order is $15.00 or more , my total order before tax was three penny's shy so no sample.

For a first time orderer i was left with a bad taste in my mouth , yes i suppose $15.00 is required but three pennys shy , c,mon especially if your looking to make a good first impression .

I know many love them but you would think for a first time customer they could of taken three penny's out of the (give a penny take a penny cup) especially when attempting to win over a customer who plans on spending quite a bit once i find a juice supplier i like.

A big :nah: for first impressions since i was completely unaware that you even had to reach $15.00 , three stinkin penny's , nice job Baker.

So in this case it wasn't possible per their terms. If you were buying face to face, from a salesperson, I could see making a small issue over this, but this is an online purchase. The cart is designed to take the order, not tell you "Hey for another .03 you could have a free 15ml bottle." Next time I suggest you read all pertinent information and proceed accordingly. To lay blame on the vendor is ridiculously petty.
You made the mistake, own it. If you had looked there is a "Let's talk" box on the site where you could have EASILY had everything explained to you.

It's good. It needs about 12 days of steep time to reach its peak though.

The best ejuice I've tried from MBV was vanilla butternut. I got it as a freebie. Not something I'd normally order but wow, very tasty.

That's good to know, about the steep time; I'll file that for future reference, because I do love blueberry-ANYTHING, so I'll undoubtedly be trying the Blue Moo before long. I've found that High Desert Vapes' ejuice needs a pretty lengthy steep, too; the banana nut bread I got from them recently is the first of theirs that tasted ok right out of the mail, but I bet it'll be even better in a couple weeks.

I've got a couple of vanilla flavors, French Vanilla from MyFreedomSmokes, and a plain Vanilla from VaporDNA, but I think the jury is still out on whether I really like them or not, as a vape. Have decided that coffee isn't a vape flavor I like, it reminds me too much of pipe tobacco -- I always smell coffee in pipe smoke! -- and I'm not sure yet about chocolate, mainly because I haven't yet found a vape that tastes like chocolate -- even the Belgian Cocoa that everyone raves about, I can barely taste it at all, even from a dripper. I seem to prefer the fruit flavors, when I stray from the Virginia I love, and some of the bakery flavors -- blueberry muffin and banana nut bread, and a snickerdoodle sample that MFS sent me -- are pretty good too, but vanilla and chocolate, just not too sure about yet.

Thx!

I agree... back when I was first getting started, I was talking to MadVapes via their ticket system, about when their ARO Pyrex tanks might be back in stock. It turned into a more general conversation (REALLY! nice folks there), and I mentioned that I was soon going to order their Green Apple and clove flavors, which was why I needed a pyrex tank. He said the apple didn't need it, but the clove did; then asked me what mg I vape at, I replied "6mg"... then I had to go pick up my husband from work... when I got back, in my email I found that he had sent me TWO free bottles of juice, no charge, no shipping, just free! Of Green Apple and Clove! Now I have to say, that Green Apple isn't very good, but the Clove is excellent, and I'll definitely order that, when it runs out, and guess where I'll be ordering it FROM? MadVapes, of course. :thumb:

Amazon.com will tell you you only need to spend X amount more to be eligible for free shipping.

I'm on the fence with this one. If I was the vendor I would have just thrown the sample in (especially first time customer). But on the other side rules are rules and they have to have a cut off point right?

At Ahlusion you have to spend $20 and request a 10ml sample (not all juices are on the sample list, but many are). I've ordered from Mt. Baker one time and wasn't that impressed with their offerings. The price was fantastic, shipping quick, just tasted very plain and artificial to me. Taste is subjective and they seem very popular with many members here. Never tried the hawk sauce though, seems like it's most popular juice.

Someone mentioned suggesting a pop up. Or they could add it to the info with the coupon code on the left when you view your cart, or even add something to the live chat bar. "Got a question? Ask me about free juice!"

Not a bad idea. At all.

I only missed the free sample mark one time. I switched to DIY and was only ordering flavorings and didn't realize I fell below the mark,,,in my case it was 20 cants. I didn't mind..just kinda smacked my head like DOH! But I realized it was my fault.

I don't gripe. Heck now that I DIY they even let me have my free sample as a flavoring instead of juice! Most companies would not do that.

Compelled to respond a second time.

Again, I completely side with OP. Yet, I find it hard to be 'completely unaware' of something that is literally at the very top of the website where it reads "FREE E JUICE ON PURCHASES OVER $15."

Yet, you say your order came to $15 before taxes. Well, that (and shipping) is something you purchased. I mean if "rules are rules" then hey let's get all technical on what the consumer purchased.

Moreover, you had a comment and unless their database is primitive, it would show you are new customer. Without the comment, I can see reason to try and get away with the exclusion. With the comment, I'd send an email at very least, before order is shipped, that explains the matter. I mean, I'd do this if I cared about customer service.

But still seems a whole lot easier to just include the requested sample and move onto next order.

Added: After reviewing the MBV policy page for the "free e-juice," it makes clear the way it is calculated and that it is 12 mg/ml at 80/20 PG/VG split. Knowing that, if I ordered $40 from them, I'd be adding in comment saying, "please do not send me a free bottle. Thank you."

Yes, their standard free sample is 12 mg, 80/20. However, you can request any flavor, any nicotine level, any pg/vg ratio for your freebie. Just put it in the comments box. I usually just specify the nicotine level and pg/vg ratio, and let them choose the flavor. Several times, I have requested a specific flavor (the last 2 times I requested Vanilla Butternut and their Strawberry Banana, not sure of the correct name of the flavor) and I got it.

And imagine if they bent the rules for you, you'd come here and brag, then they'd have a flood of angry customers asking how you got a free bottle but they didn't. Policies are there for a reason.
___________

I have never bragged about bilking some chump out of three cents. I've managed high end hard goods stores to drug stores and you don't build a business out of it's our policy, I can't give you three cents.
A vendor did a huge favor for me a few weeks ago. There's no way I would brag about that here.
People who read the OP won't remember him as much as the store that told him to take a hike over three cents.
If you let someone slide and put a cute note to the buyer in their vape mail like: we spotted you .03 so you can't buy from anyone else, forever. He could have turned into a $500 + plus customer.
But, it is their business they can set any policy they want.
These guys do a great job if you can take their juice so i'm not saying this was some train robbery.
They sent me a big sample of cantaloupe the only time I bought from them. It didn't taste like anything but it was better than armorall at making leather shiny and slippery.
Heck, this guy could have been living in a hostel with 50 vapers looking for cheap juice. You really don't who your customer is.
A salesman laughed at me for spending 30 minutes with a 13yo kid wanting to buy a big stereo. He came back with his grandfather a few hours later and dropped close to
2 grand. My friend wasn't laughing.
The vendor that did me a favor, $104 retail, did it even though it was my fault. I'm not rolling in the cash dept but emailed them trying to let me pay for it. lol They wouldn't so I went right back to their site and ordered the same thing after getting my mailbox under control. the apt didn't show me where the big lock boxes were. I'll buy from them and recommend them as much as i can. I just won't tell. man, i've beat this to death. Still, I'm going to snail mail them 3 pennies.
OTOH, if they were going on their 3rd 18 hour day trying to keep up their excellent service I probably would have told him to take a hike too. Done deal--move forward.

There's an old saying in retail business that goes something like this

Do 100 good things and you're lucky if 1 person hears about it
Do 1 wrong thing and you're lucky if only 100 people hear about it.
New customers are not already returning customers. They need to be made to want to return.

Exactly!!!
