Hey there girl.....yup...same here...but I'm in no hurry to revisit it, lol. That's too much like the commodities I HAD to eat as a kid....the YELLOW powdered milk was another one...can we say, "make me wanna up chuck!!"

I ate my fair share of Spam when I was a kid but I, too, grew out of it. Come to think of it though, I haven't tried it in years. Maybe I'd like it now... I only ever liked it fried though. Too slimy right out of the can.

Never had to do the yellow powdered milk (not even sure what that is) but we did lots of Spam and those gross, canned Vienna Sausages and of course Ramen - I'm sure there's a lot of super cheap, gross food I'm forgetting.

I think you gotta live in Hawaii to understand it. Vienna Sausage is another local fave here. Wow now we hating on that too.

Well, I grew up in the 50's on. We were so damned poor that we used to get canned meat, powdered milk, buggy flour, buggy, cornmeal and other stuff that I don't remember from the state. My parents used to drive to the county line (border of Wisconsin and Illinois) to get "Oleo"...which, at that time was the beginnings of 'margarine'. It came in a sealed bag with a red button, which was the coloring, that you pushed and then mashed it all together so that it went from white (pure vegetable oil or lard I'm guessing), to yellow like real butter, lol!!!

You gotta be kiddin' me!! All those 'mystery meats' are THAT popular there? With all the ocean around you, you'd think that seafood would be king!! Vienna sausage tastes like mush to me, lol
