I think I need to nip a rumor in the bud.
I have joked about moving to France due to the large amount of European customers I have, but this is just a joke and will not happen.
I have NOT opened up another renamed RSM shop in France. The person making the wood box mods in France is not affiliated with me in any way irregardless of the appearance of his mods. They are not made using my actual schematics and designs and I have not sold copies of those designs.
I realize the number of long-standing wood mod makers in the US have declined, but I am not going anywhere that I know of.

Don't think so either, but I've always preferred to use non-enhanced wood, It's far more stable.
Ahh I thought I remembered you doing a couple batches with Burls or at least one so I wondered if there had been an Ambonya thrown in. I am getting a tube mod wraped in it and thought getting a Cutlass to match might be neat.
BTW batch looks great as always. I always love the progress pics.
Good Morning lads & ladies, it be a damn fine looking day out there today.
My house task yesterday evening was cleaning out the rain gutters, what fun! They were totally packed with leaves and crud to the point that weeds were growing out of them, oops! I'm waiting until after 7 pm or so to do outside work, the sun is setting, temps are dropping too so it's not such a killer to do outside work.
I did a word search in my spreadsheet, but didn't find it. I've done lots of burls and stabilized woods so far, but it doesn't look like I've done that one.
The Gmelia burl, Ironwood and some others that I have used for bodies have turned out ok, but due to the nature of the injected & stabilized woods I've never managed to make them as nice & pretty as when I'm using a real wood with constant density through the whole block, so I've sorta stopped even trying to use it for bodies this last year.

Thank you! I'll get some pics uploaded as soon as she gets back from her one week trip to Seattle - she took her camera and memory card with her. Or... maybe she could email them to me. I'll see what I can do! Future plans... I think we've convinced her to do 2 years of community college before going off to a big university. She'll start in the fall if everything goes according to plan. She's always wanted to be a photographer but we'll see what she decides she likes in college.
edit - found one of her walking - can't see her face very well but you can tell she's excited!

Ahoy! Quiet everywhere!
That's a good thing though, means everyone is out having fun.
I spent today building mods again, only have a few left to install electronics in, then I can get busy putting the final coats of finish on them and get them off to their new owners. I would think I will be able to ship before next weekend.
That means I also have to get ready to open up pre-orders again. I will probably do that within the next few days.
Didn't do a damn thing around the house, just quit soldering when I got a crick in my neck a few hours ago, shut down the shop and started playing on the computer.
and.... that's it fer now! Arrrrr

That's great news Cappy. Glad the batch is coming along well. Hopefully the thread will liven up a bit once new mods are getting into people's hands.
Ahoy! Beautiful weekend so far, puffy clouds drifting across the sky, sun sparkling in the rain puddles, lovely whine of the CNC machine.... could hardly be better.
Gotta do desk caddies and do them hard and fast or they are gonna be late, sorry batch!
The batch is complete, no fatalities during final test. They have to get at least one more coat of finish and then allowed to dry nice and hard before I can ship them.
I think I may stop waxing them though, it is giving people false impressions that they are getting a gloss finish when everyone know I don't like a gloss finish on the mods. A satin finish doesn't show wear marks from fingers and scratches and dings are harder to see.
I haven't decided on a pre-order start date yet, I will announce it here when I figure it out.
