Out the door they go! Batch is shipped, whewwwww!! I hope I didn't mess anything up, good grief, so many details to remember....

I've really fallen in love with the square dna switches. I've got nothing but good reports from the people ordering them.

I've been using mine for months now and it still clicks just as good as when it was new. On the feeder styles, the feed tube fits perfectly between the wire terminals just like it was made for that purpose. With the other switches the tube has to flex around the screws that hold the wires in place

The website is getting updated now. Two of the mods I made for the website are already gone via E-Mail orders, another one I grabbed for myself. I'd been eyeing it up since I started the batch and I just can't resist.

I will be posting two Cutlass dna's and some Cruiser II's on the website.

Besides making more of the Curly Tiger Maple Cruisers, I also made some out of the new Australian Mahogany.

I used black hardware. I thought that would look the best with the dark red.

Here are the two Cutlass DNA's

The first is Australian mahogany with those gorgeous snake wood panels

and the second is made from solid mahogany. I think this Australian Red Mahogany might become my new favorite body wood. I hope I can get more of it, it's great to work with.

Now, time to take a little break from it all, arrrrr

nice texture on the australian mahogany!

Yeah, it is just plain gorgeous wood, no denying it. It's a fairly heavy wood and cuts and shapes like a dream. One of the best woods I've worked with so far.

---

Almost forgot. I've changed all the Cruiser body styles. They will all have the rounded #2 edges on them from now on unless custom ordered.

Ahoy and good morning all.

Well, I've decided not to take the job. Having to sell everything, move to another city, pay much higher rent than I pay now, having to leave my son behind and every con that a move would bring, I decided to give it a pass. Not to mention after being my own boss for this long I'm not fond of giving up the freedom that brings. I may regret the decision I suppose, but ..... time will tell

With that said, I guess I need to get the website ready for pre-orders eh?

Here is another picture of the two Cruiser types available on the website. It's easier to see the colors of the mods with them side by side I think.

I think it's time for a new model to come out, what might it be ... hmmmm

Have a great Friday! arrrr

Good morning captain and crew, tgif!

My layoff is progressing nicely, first week almost complete. 14 months 3 weeks to go Arr!

Glad to hear you've come to a decision Cappy. I recently turned down that job in California as it was just too big of a move for me so I know the feeling all too well. Don't let the "what could have been" thoughts knaw at you too bad :)

Oooh, new model brainstorm! From reading around, stealth is all the rage right now. 18350/18500 mods are in more demand. Maybe an 18350 3.7v mini inset tank mod and bottomfeeder. The DNA 20 is also proving to be quite popular.

Ahoy!

Well, the end of a Friday, hope you all have some good plans for this weekend?

I was chatting with David, my youngest son, and we were talking about not taking the job and he mentioned that sometimes I act like making mods is not exactly a job to me and that I probably don't want to give up being the creative force behind something I can call my very own. Perhaps kind of a small ego trip I guess.

I run my own shop, make my own schedule, design my own product and get a real sense of pleasure when people like what I make. I think he is probably correct in his thinking.

But, I do get tired of making these sometimes, perhaps that is why I keep coming up with new designs, to get some of that excitement back and to give myself a renewed sense of pleasure when creating these things. Yes, I need another design but it does make things harder when making a batch when I have to keep changing gears for different models but I think it is worth it in the long run.

For the last year at least, I've wished that I could start offering more items for sale on the website for resale to help boost my income, but I've never had the cash to really start stocking things for resale and I can't drive myself to work those crazy hours anymore, so that can be a bit depressing, I had such great visions for RSM, but at least I'm still surviving by making the mods themselves and the occasional desk caddy. I think all the positive things that I get out of RSM far outweigh simply making more money by working for someone else. I've spent my life grinding hours for a paycheck, this is the first time I've had a sense of accomplishment and felt proud of what I had done. Honestly, I never imagined I had the skills hidden away to even attempt to make such an intricate thing and actually do it well.

yay me! lol

Anyway, I would also like to again thank the people who have hung around, encouraged me when I needed it, given me a kind word when the words have become scarce. It looks like I will be around for a while yet.

It's been a while since I made a long post, sorry for the long stretch of short words.

Have a great weekend my friends.

Cappy just a quick thank you for all you do for us. My mom doesn't post on forums but her 5.1 Cutlass was probably the one device that kept her off smoking since she got it. She has never wanted or used another mod even when offered. She cherishes hers and even though she doesn't vape much anymore it is always loaded and kept close at hand in case. For her it is a cherished posession because it helped her stay off smokes and it was made for her.

For me my 5.1 Cutlass is with me and used every day. It is easily one of the best mods I have ever used and has given me a great appreciation for wood mods and finely crafted wood items in general.

As far as the website I am not sure what happened with the A7's you were selling but I think it was convienent to buy them from your website.

Anyways thanks again for your great mods.

Thanks!

As for the Cutlas 5.1's, it's funny how some people liked them so much. I should take some time and look into the possibility of offering one more retro batch of 5.1's. I no longer have the original jigs I used, but I might be able to come up with the same shape using new methods of building them, hmmmmm, would take some serious thought and planning. Arrrr

I got something wonderful in the mail today. It's the title for my 1991 Harley Davidson FXDWG. Of all the vehicles I've owned during my lifetime, this is the first time I've finished paying off a vehicle and gotten the title. Usually I buy a old 2nd hand car for cash, or when I was doing much better when I was working as a technician for big companies I just traded one new car in after a few years for another new one but never managed to pay them off.

The Harley is a bit old and rusty, with 78 thousand miles, but it's mine and nobody can take it away!

I've been playing with a re-designed old school Cutlass, not sure if I can do it yet but I may be able to fit a DNA12 into it and give it the appearance of the 5.1 Cutlass.

I saved a considerable amount of wood from that design, so I should be able to offer a decent selection of wood but that all hinges on me figuring out a design for it. Might take some time to work it all out though.

Time to shut down and watch some tv or something, have a nice night, arrr
