Ahoy all, time to grind through another scurvy Monday, arrrrg

Just grabbed a quick coffee today and got right to work, trying to get things caught up here.

I shipped another version of the M-T desk caddy today. The buyer requested I add 4 more of the large tank holes and I decided it's a nice alternate version and added it to the website.

Here is the original side by side with the alternate version;

Lots to do, be back later.

Happy Monday maties. Glad to see the ol' Red Sky will be in service for some time to come. Got caught up with the thread. I would love to see a retro batch (I do think that was my idea way back when). Marblewood with Ebony end caps would be my choice. The aesthetics of the 5.1 is uncanny.

I've been working on a design for a retro 5.1, but the construction is radically different than the new generation of mods. It is going to probably have to be a completely had made design. You think people would be willing to pay for that, for a limited batch of old-school cutlass's?

------

I will probably open up pre-orders early Wednesday afternoon.

This batch will offer the Cutlass II & DNA, the Destroyer II & DNA and the Cruiser II. Same as last batch.

Additional body wood this batch (in limited quantities) will be East Indian rosewood, Granadillo and Macassar ebony.

I also have a few more panel woods to add to the dozens already offered.

I will try to get the pre-order tab open on the website by tomorrow so people can browse the options.

A note about the pre-orders. Many of the wood selections are one of a kind. If someone buys that selection then I have to manually delete that option in the drop down menu's or it will generate an error during checkout if someone else tries to buy it. I try to be fast but it happens.

I am still poking David to get me a mod review section on the website, but it's like pulling teeth  someday ....

I would also like to have a gallery section too.

The square DNA switches continue to impress me. I encourage anyone who is undecided about selecting either the traditional switch or the DNA type switch to give it a try, I simply love mine.

Thats it for now, have a good one, arrr

Cappy i think you would probably get interist in a retro version. I wonder if it might not be worth estimating a price then making a list kinda like you did in the old days. Figgure out how many you would have to make to be "worthwhile" and have the list open untill you fill. Once you fill you could start production after whichever "current" batch you are on. If I have learnded one thing from vaping people will pay for what they love and wait if needed :D

Personally I am excited to finally get my hands on a Cutlass II.

Well, if I could get even a small batch of them on a pre-order, it would be worth the good karma points to just do it.

But, as always I would need to get at least one or two prototypes done before I could say it's a go or not, we'll see how it turns out.

Arrg, look at the time, what the hell am I doing still up, I'll never get my hours under control!

G'night all, arrr

Hi all!
I've been stalking this thread since I was lucky enough to find a previously loved Cruiser II. I wasn't really the wood mod type gal until I held Cruiser II in my hand! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL work! I'm hoping someone here can help me out! With the next pre-ordering round coming up ... I'd like to see the size difference (pic of the two together) of the Cutlass DNA bottomfeeder and the Cruiser II. Meanwhile below is a pic of my lovely! Fits my hand (and I have small ones) like a glove! Just a GREAT vape! So I'm torn between ordering another Cruiser II with the beautifully colored stabilized wood or the DNA bottomfeeder model! ;-) Thanks matey's!

Pic .... :D

Beautiful! I just got my Cruiser yesterday and I couldn't agree more on the fit. If my hoarding therapist forced me to having only one wood BF, this would be my choice...the most comfortable pv I own. And that Australian Mohagany is just too cool! Some parts of the grain on the face sides have a glowing/shimmering effect in certain light. Love it so much that I'll be placing an order for a custom one on the next batch :)
The craftmanship is absolutely perfect Cappy, thank you!

Ahoy!

Work work work, when is it time to play?

Hopefully the website will be open to preview the pre-order page in the next couple hours, still go a lot of updating to do.

Here are 3 pics of the body wood to be included in this batch, I don't have much but it will be available.

Click any picture for full sized view;

East Indian Rosewood -

Granadillo -

Macassar Ebony -

And some of the new side panel wood to be included in this batch.

Yellowheart-

Curly Koa -

Canary wood -

Caribbean rosewood -

Figured Red maple -

Another Flame box elder variation -

Hawaiian Koa -

A kinda unusual flame box elder -

Marble wood -

I'm also gonna try to squeeze in some time to work on the 5.1 design and also try to finish the design for the desk caddy with bottom drawer and make a prototype.

Yo ho!

I don't have a Destroyer DNA on hand, next time I have all the DNA models together I will take a side by side picture or maybe I can find where the original picture for the website is.

You might find this interesting though, here is a Mark-2, 3, 4, 5.1, 6, 7, 8 and 9 side by side from my treasure chest

Pity I didn't save a Mark-1, wonder if I can find a owner who would be willing to part with theirs, hmmm

Ahoy and good morning!

Taking care of some last minute details, minor fixes to the pre-order options and such.

If anyone see's an obvious mistake on the website, please let me know and I will get it fixed.

I went out yesterday and bought some mahogany and cherry wood for desk caddy orders, man the price has jumped up again! Even more common wood is getting pricey. Make it stop!

Talk more later, got work to do! arrr
