Lol, sometimes the E-mails I get are so funny....

People see something somewhere and they think I can just do it without any problem. I hate to disappoint, but I don't think many people realize I am just one man nearing elderly status, using a hobby cnc machine and tools anyone can find at a local Home Depot to do this work.

I don't make a whole pile of money off mods, too much overhead due to being a solo operation..... you may even find it interesting that my profits from making mods is running neck and neck with profits from desk caddy sales. If it wasn't for caddies I would not have survived this year.

I would love to fulfill peoples wishes and desires, but alas I can only do so much in a day. If I had high-end state of the art machines and a couple guys in my shop I could do much more but I have to work with what I have, heh.

But keep asking! Who knows, it may just be my next new model and I believe everyone who has led me down the path to a new model has gotten the first one free, I think :)

I'm currently making wires and atty connectors, let the assembly begin!

Ahoy all, happy Friday.

Take your time Waho! It's totally a buyers market at present so you can afford to be picky! Make those realtors work!

We've been looking for quite a while now being that we're soo picky. The one with 14 acres is pretty awesome though. The house is 4 bed 1.5 bath 2000 sq ft and sits on 2 acres. There are also big and small barns on there. The rest of the 12 acres is wooded so shouldn't require too much in the way of maintenance unless I make dirt bike/quad trails or something.

Only slightly out of my price range so hopefully they'll come down if I decide I want it :D

Aloha!

I think I'm done for the day. I only got 3 more Cutlass DNA20's built, seems they are taking a bit over 2 1/2 hours each to build. I can build a DNA12 in under an hour so I am going to have to allow for more time for assembly it seems.

Other than that, everything is going pretty good.

Have a fine damn piratey weekend all, arrr!

Ahoy all, another quiet day around here.

Did I hear another wood mod supplier is closed?

Who's left in the USA making wood mods now? MCM is the only one I can think of, are the Phidias still being made? I feel so out of touch.

Anyone have a good memory and can remember all the ones that have closed?

I haven't been checking either but looks like GRIP & Bogger Box are still around... and I don't see Monkey Box website anymore.

Oh yes? I thought Brad @ grip had stopped. What about that guy who made 3D looking mods .... can't remember the name, Japetto?

There was another guy for a while this spring who kinda disappeared too, made his box mods really shiny I think. Ah, so many have come and gone.

Making wood mods is a terrible way to get rich as many have obviously found out. The real money is in metal mods and accessories. You just let some manufacturer do all the sweating and you just assemble and ship them yourself. Someone loan me 10 grand and I will give it a try too!

Arrr

Brad is still around but has a million problems with his Flair project and other personnal issues. Gepetto is still there as well, only he now has his own website and makes a small batch every now and then. The last one is Bullbox I think...well this one I don't know and...I don't care. Never really liked the attitude of that guy, ok boxes but an unpleasant habit to express a huge love for himself and despise other moders' work (well he's not alone to do that, I know at least one more :D)

Overall if you come to think about it, there are probably around 10 Wood box makers around the world and around 10 new manufacturers of tube mods.... a day :D

I once owned monkeboxxes, phidias, hogs mods, woodvils, du bocage, Ali'i, ha-y-n box mod, and a grip. All were great mods, but I've only have RSMs now. That is a testament to the quality and customer service that the good ol' Captain provides. Also your willingness to improve upon the mods. A lot of wooden mod makers don't take the initiative to change their designs.

Good morning crew!

Aye, us, Cappy's faithful crew and thorn is his side. Forever pestering our good captain to change things.

I hopped on board when the original run of mark 10 marauders hit. I can't think of any other man/group that has made as many changes to his devices (and caddies for that matter!) at the request of his followers in such a short time.

We ask, Cappy delivers. End of story.
