.002 brass shim works, but after a day of use at 12 - 13 watts with a 1.3 ohm coil, it was heat forming itself around the spring base.

Changed it out to a .005 shim, this is the limit without modification to the wood in my particular mod. The door is just slightly sticking up, but can press down a little to make it flush again. Also can only use flat top batteries with the thicker shim, my aw button tops don't quite fit now.

Wow, another dead thread day. I hope things pick up soon, seems nobody is chatting much on ECF, at least on the threads I follow. Where is everyone? It's like a morgue in the shop anymore, I really need to think about teaming up with someone, even if it's just for the comic relief. Arrrr

Good night crew!

I haven't been around much as this assembly job is pretty steadily busy, and with the long drive to and from doesn't leave much spare time. Rest assured, the ladies all get their workout!

I really need to find time to make review videos as my beard is back (not the hair yet but bah!). I just dont want my old lady thinking I'm all crazy talking to the laptop!

Patch 5.4 went life today. Everyone was playing WoW.

Seriously though coming up on the end of summer. Hopefully the forums will pick up this winter.

I got it all downloaded after work and by the time it was done I just went to bed. I'm still working on the titan runestone part of the legendary quest line and the thought of running ToT lfr again is just so offputting :p

Also looking forward to new owner photos! Even when not in the batch its great to see some new mods in new hands :D

Ahoy!

Well, another hump day to get through me 'earties.

I have one desk caddy pending and I'm hoping for more pre-orders but I'm going to have to start the batch soon irregardless of how many people are on the list I guess.

The summer slump has been pretty bad this year, I make lots of sales via word of mouth and the threads have been very slow.

For the last half dozen batches Europe was making up 3/4 of my pre-orders, but with the new box mod maker they have over there I've pretty much lost the Europe market. I was secretly hoping he would go the way of many of my other competitors but this dude is making a mod that looks fantastic, is made using the best tricks we've learned over the years, and is local to boot. Ouch ...

Ok, so.. huh....time to rethink the situation.

I've got David putting all the desk caddies I offer up on E-bay, hopefully to generate a few more sales a month. I'm also looking into making a Facebook store but David will have to do it for me. I'm starting to feel kinda old in the head and new tech things don't seem to be as easily learned as before but I think it's something we should do.

I am going to start a contest tomorrow evening on the sub-forum. It will be another contest where the number of posts will dictate how many prizes I give away. Should be fun I hope and will also let people who don't know I exist get a look at what I have to offer.

Even if the worst happens to RSM, I will still keep my parts on hand, be available for repairs and keep answering PM's as always. I just hope it doesn't come to that. I think I just need to find a new breeze to fill our sails and get back up to speed. Good grief, I heard that e-cig sales are now a billion dollar a year market, you would think I could survive even if I am a niche market?

As always, will keep you posted on any significant news, arrrr

I would think that getting the DNA 20 word out would do a lot of good. I've read thread after thread about people looking for DNA 20 bottom feeders.

Not to be a broken record, but I think 22mm inset would bring more folks to the table as well, especially with DNA 20.

Aye, I agree, getting the word out is my main concern at the moment. Doing what I can :)

Like last batch, I will be making a 22mm DNA20 Destroyer prototype this batch and if all works out as well as the Cutlass20 it will be offered next batch. The current Destroyer is around 21mm so I should be able to fudge the hole bigger without changing the overall mod dimensions.

I think .....

Agree, most atomisers are now 22mms, that would be great to be able to put them in a DNA20 Destroyer and that would certainly bring a lot more people.
Wow, I didn't have time to check the website...I love the new design! Classy!:toast:

I'm looking at the design for the Destroyer20 right now. If I make the hole 22mm exactly, will it allow them to fit? or do I need to make it a bit bigger even for it to have room. In other words, is the 22mm tank/atomizer or whatever it is exactly 22mm in diameter? If so I will need to make the hole probably 22.5mm to ensure it fits.

If I wasn't so strapped I'd offer to pay for the prototype now. That's how much confidence I (and the crew, I'm sure) has in our glorious captain!

I've been posting and showing as many photo's of my fleet as I can (without being annoying I hope). I'll see what I can do about getting a few videos up on the ol' YouTube. Maybe I'll have my lovely girlfriend do the video in a low cut top, arr!

what are some of the popular 22mm atomizers?

GG Ithaka/Odysseus, kayfun 3.1/lite, a lot of the high end and clone genesis atomizers are 22mm as well.

I'm currently in love with my kayfuns. Very well made and work great with micro coils and cotton after you get the hang of it. Would love to drop one in an RSM and then finally (probably not though) quit buying stuff!

Say the word and I'll be glad to mail you a few! :D

Just one, and the cheapest one you have of that size would be really great, I thank you kindly.

You know, back when the thread was really busy, I should have pandered to the audience and tried to get people to send me any mod they had that was defunct rather than throw it away. I could have used them to fill up the desk caddies for pictures and used them to check holes sizes. One never thinks of such things at the right time... arrr

Thanks Waho!
