Nope  I guess more than one maker is using the plastic. Personally I don't leave batts in my mods unattended. If a batt is going to do something bad, will a kill switch save the mod? I don't understand the need if you have a spring?????

If a battery decides to give up the ghost, it can do it all by itself and a on/off switch wont make any difference, It has happened to me before. Internal breakdown, melted, smoked and then went to Davy Jones's locker.

As far as I'm concerned, the on/off will just save your atty from being nuked if the push button is held on while in a pocket or purse. I think after its been held on for 10-20 seconds its going to burn out the atty coil anyway and that will shut it down just like opening a switch. It's a unintentional safety switch.

Not in my opinion, but I have to go with public demand, and the demanding voices are saying I have to install on/off switches and that setting the voltage by taste or using a multimeter is too hard and they have to have built in LEDs. Life would certainly be easier and I could make these much faster and cheaper without the extra work involved.

That's too bad, because if you put a switch in mine, you could have saved yourself the trouble...

NOW yer talking!!!! I'd be game for one and then wouldn't have to wait for the LED VV. I like cocobolo, and other wild grained woods <hint, hint>

I am serious BTW!

QUOTE=Capt' Brian;3400867]I have toyed with that idea, it would not be that hard and you would then have a little meter that you could use with other mods as well. Pretty little boxes in exotic woods. Maybe I should make a few just to see if people would like them.
[/QUOTE]

I'm not ready yet to incorporate a LED, so the next batch will not have them, but I might take the time to make a few display boxes to see how they come out although you can buy one from Madvapes.com for 15 bucks I think.

Some of the body wood types I would like to include in this next batch are Mediterranean Olive, Asian Marblewood, Koa, African black & white ebony, Rosewood, Cocobolo, Sycamore, Padauk, Purpleheart, Wenge and a few out of the more common bodies I've used in the past. I think its finally time to start upping the ante :p

Kill switch keeps mod from accidently firing in pocket or purse...spring just collapses if you have a short.I wouldn't use plastic rather flip a switch

EXACTLY! And leaving an atty screwed in while pocketed or pursed is asking to have it broken off in a lot of cases. I'm not gonna risk a $150 mod over a $8 dollar IKV. Makes no sense. I don't need no kill switch in my silver key mod...period! Maybe a spare spring. I DO want a RSM wooden cased meter, and a multi meter too when you get my mod built ;-)

Sound good?

And just perfect for someone like me, who has no idea how to use a multimeter... yet... LOL!!

Me either, but I've heard about vapers who have. Really messes up your connection and your day! I don't haul a purse after being mugged years ago. But lord what some contain is amazing....kitchen sink anyone?

If the atty is screwed in and accidentally fires, what's to keep the coil from nuking and shorting your mod? Maybe I'm too ...., but I'm for protecting myself & my gear....an ounce of prevention....;-) Ya ever seen what these batts can do? Holy Moly!!!

You all have given me some veryyy interesting food for thought, yarr, I think I might sit back and think things over. For some time now I've just been reacting as the situation demands. I think I have too many things on me plate, too many models, too much variation.

Must ponder it all ... arrr

The way I am putting the switches into the Buccaneers isn't very hard, and I will keep doing it that way. It's a nice robust switch able to handle plenty of amps so I think it will stay in all future models. :)

Well VV I don't own a single mod with a kill switch nor have I ever. These are not joe blow fly by nite mods either. They all rely on springs and common sense of the user.

Yes, I apologize I was wrong. Yes the button turns to an "off" position. It turns during vaping and often turns itself off depending on how I depress it. I have to be mindful of the direction my finger presses. Because of that I do not ever rely on it or think of it a a kill switch, I pull the batts when not in use.

doesnt your reo have on/off button also called kill switch?
