A hearty congrats to the winner! Now I can stop sitting on my hands, I didn't dare get near the keyboard. Liking living indoors, I had to constrain myself.

LOL...I bid low, in the hopes someone else bid higher than me...
Momma really didn't need another box to show up this month!
Of course, I would have mods lined up like little sailors, if it were totally up to me!

Well, end of another day. I think all but one or two of the mods ordered have been delivered, hope you are all enjoying a nice relaxing vape today.

My last pre-order is ready to ship and I have a small selection of mods just waiting for a new owner. So, I am going to spend the next few days slowly working a batch of 8 or 10 of the new Mark-IV's through the system. Hope I have some done and ready for exhibit by the end of the week.

They won't be much different than the prototypes, just fancier and the dimensions will be tighter like the other mods we make. Some people make their 18650 boxes thick, some tall, mine will be wide I guess, gotta fit that hardware in somehow.

I've also been scouting around the local wood suppliers, snatching up what quality wood I can find in the dimensions I need. I may have to resort to Ebay to get some I haven't been able to find yet, like Black cherry, Red maple. I love working both those woods and they look awesome but they have to be over 1.1" thick to make a Mark-IV in my style, hard to find.

If this batch comes through without a hitch I will enable pre-ordering for Mark-IV's on the website and see what happens.

Website is up to date with current woods and the selection is getting pretty big, and the exotics are a blast to work with. Makes me want to be even more meticulous than I already am (OCD even?), probably ....

Hope you all don't mind me chatting on occasion, I kinda like y'all to have a clue of what I am up to, arrr...

Still waiting on a review video, hopefully someone will get around to it one of these days :pop:

Off to bed and then back at it, Later!

Where is the Cappy today?

No wind in the sails on Palm Sunday?

Hi Hi, yeah, it's been a real quiet day. Sunday is my usual maintenance day so cleaned and oiled, adjusted and aligned tools and such. Cut of few boxes but that was about it for today.

Sounds like you had more fun than I did, playing in oil and wood dust all day, yarrr...

I found a nice piece of Red Maple that should work for Mark-IV's on ebay so I ordered it. One less roadblock to making a match for your scallywag. Also ordered some Black Cherry. The collection for Mark-IV wood is getting nice finally.

Thats about all new with me atm ... kinda a boring day actually ...

Oh yeah, I was also looking at the inlay available here - http://inlays.com/wood_inlay_strips.asp and wondering if I should start using some of that instead of my hand laid inlay. Not sure about it, its pretty but hardly unique.

I hope you're yanking my chain and not really losing your mind!

Black Cherry & Ebony....

BTW...I like that avatar...she speaks to me!

Arrr, she be a fit craft to be sure!

I checked the spreadsheet, it's listed as Maple/Ebony/Ebony. They are both very similar, if you look close at the wood, does it have slight reddish pigments in it? Then it would be Cherry, if not then maple.

Good thing I also ordered black cherry if I'm wrong tho, heh

I think it's cherry...it has reddish tones visible, especially inside the door.
It looks lighter than another mod I have that has maple end caps.

Well, shave me beard and call me a lubber, I think your right. I'll change it in the spreadsheet and make sure I use the right stuff when I start on it.

Thanks!

Ye be a lubber...a lubber of the lubberiest type!

Okey doke, just checked, looks like I didn't get black cherry, so just found some on ebay and ordered it. I love working that wood anyway and will be great to have it for Mark-IV's. I already set aside the ebony I will need so when the cherry arrives I will shoot you a PM with a completion date. Sound good?

Ahoy! Website is up to date, removed a couple sold mods, added another Mark-III. Take a peak, I also added a scallywag gallery on the last page with images of most of the mods sold to date.

There are also a couple contests underway, but only *I* know the particulars, the winners will be in for a suprise. No, no more details than that...call it hidden treasure if you will :D

Yarrr, heave ho me lads, up anchor and underway ....

I noticed you had cedar available on your site, how sturdy is this type of wood? I tried to order a cedar wood mod several months back from two different makers and was basically given the same answer, too brittle to work with and not stable enough. What is your opinion on this type of wood?
