@Cappy: can I apply Tungoil when needed?

Sure, if you wish, it should make it much more smooth to hold and give it a shiny appearance. The drying time might be a while so be patient and let the finish harden well before you handle it. :)

the reason why I ask is because depending on what is on it now, tungoil will or will not penetrate through the pores of the wood. I love that oil; apply, let it soak in for 15 minutes, wipe off any access and re-apply after 24 hours, doing that for several days gives it a great durable finish......

Now that I've placed my order, I figured I had better start making arrangements for my Cutlass!

I gather I need to use 2 AWE IMR 18350 batt's, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone has recommendations for atty's? Canon's? Others? I'm pretty new to vaping, so any help would be appreciated!

(Sorry if this question has been asked already a few times...I don't recall seeing it.)

it is really an amazing piece, the woodwork is not from this world!!!

@ emomty. Your Flying Dutchman truly is a beautiful piece of artwork. And isn't it amazing how beautiful, neat and clean on the inside. Cappys attention to detail is, well, I'm going to say it again redundantcy be damed, amazing. :)

Ahoy!

Well, it looks as if I'm officially joining the good ship Red Sky as a new crew member- possibly to the dismay of our able captain, to whom I am directing seemingly endless questions in the quest for the perfect wood for my cabin (I think I heard him mutter something about a "gangplank", so he's obviously thinking along the same lines).

Anyway, I'm happy to be here, and reading with some fascination the journals of all of the crew members who have been here before me. Looks like fair weather on the horizon, and I'm looking forward to the voyage!
Welcome aboard dfc. The Capt! Is all good with questions, and not to worry about any gangplank as a gangplank is used to board the vessel or disembark. It's "the plank" leading to somewhere in the direction of Davy Jones locker whilst tied up with anchor chain you concern yerself with. ;)

The only blue county in Texas!
Yes - don't leave us in suspense! What did you order?

You might wanna get a regular atty and a low res atty so you can see what you like. Joye attys are a safe bet. Maybe one 3.0 and one 1.5 to start you out. Lots of people like 306 attys as well. You don't wanna take lr attys above 4v though!

Thanks pchela. I'll have to check out the joye attys, and do a little research on the 306 attys too. I'm still trying to find my way through the maze of different volt/ohm variations.

With much anguishing over different woods, I finally decided on Padauk for the (rounded) main body, and Wenge for the end caps, with black hardware. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

I think that will look awesome! Good choices! Did you see the pauduk that was just made with the last batch?

Yes! Seeing what a great job Brian did with those really made me want something similar. I thought that Padauk would would also look nice with darker end caps.

But really, that was after a LOT of agonizing. There are so many nice wood combinations possible. I could easily see this mod being the first of many Red Sky mods in my future...

for attys check out the new bottom feeding hybrids from VAPAGE.com Premium Vaping, Disposable Ecig & Electronic Cigarette Outfitters... use coupon code vapin15 for a 15% discount
these attys are specially designed for bottom feeders so it makes the atty impossible to flood....they also have great flavor and lots of vapor!

Wow, that's REALLY lovely Ruppy. I would be overjoyed if mine turned out as nicely!

I can see we have similar tastes! The only differences will be in the details -- the shape and the color of the hardware.

I feel the anticipation building...and Brian hasn't even started!
