~That is so awesome that you are making Drott the mod of her choice!
~I had no idea thats what the voltmeter was for at madvapes, I just knew that it looked different than the one I use to check my attys.
~Those new inlays look really neat!

You have boots like that? Awesome. On what occasion do you wear something like that?

Drottwiler was the 1001 poster, prize time! Hard to believe we had 1000 already, seems like I'm just now feeling settled in.

Madvapes is still out of the battery voltage indicator kits, so I tore my premade one apart to see how to fit it. I've looked and looked and the one they sell is the smallest LCD indicator I can find. I can get it cheaper but I don't want to wait a month to get it from Hong Kong :(

I suppose I could order some of their premade ones, take them apart and make them usable for juice feeders.

Been a few days since my last late night update. I get wordy sometimes but I am an awfully fast typer...

Finally finished the last of the DIY kit stuff, I wanted some of everything I offered on hand so people didn't have to wait more than a day or so, but if the sales still stink in another week I will start making premades out of all them.

I have a batch just finishing sanding now, will have pics in another day. Most of them will be 5v or VV as I still have some 3.7v available on the website. No use making more until the current ones go to new homes.

I've put the price for the Mark-III back to what it originally was and lowered the price of everything else as well. They may be towards the 'lower end' price-wise, but these are tough times and I want to keep them affordable. I'll just make more of them to make up the difference, lol

As always, I'm working on improving the construction, but perfection is always a goal that's never achieved, but...

They could be better! :D

I think I figured out how to mount the display in the bottom end cap. If I can make it work and not take hours of hand tooling I MIGHT be able to offer some VV with displays, we will have to wait and see.

Arrrrrr...

Mornin Cappy. You might check with Parallex2. He may have an idea on a supplier. Check out his albums here. View Profile: Parallex2 - E-Cigarette Forum

Morning all, break time in OK City. No worries Cap'n, both eyes are always on the road.
Me Scallywag is prefect for long drives, tilt n shoot means not having to look at what i'm doing, just drive n vape. Life is good with me scallywag! Now when I get the kit done I won't need to stop for battery swaps. Full speed ahead!

Okey dokey, there is a handy order form on the DIY page so I get a exact list of everything you wish. Whenever your ready just fill it out and I will get to work on it.

Thanks for looking, hope to see you around the thread

I'm more of a lurker, I like to get information that way. I tell you what though, I love this DIY kit Idea I'm very happy your doing it. I think your box mod's are perfect for that, the way they are designed kind of like a puzzle. I have a friend wanting to build one to so I might wait and just order both to do them at the same time hopefully he get's back to me with his answear tonight. I get kind of careless when I spend money on my ecig's lol and don't like waiting when I can order now.

If I wanted to Dye the wood a color which wood would be best? somthing like the white ash ?

As for staining the wood, I think the Cherry would be easier than the ash. Ash is very hard and dense and probably would not stain well, but it would probably paint very well if you wanted a spray paint color on it.

I'm unsure about LED display's but since I never held a scallewag would this double LED display be small enough to mount on the side of the batterry and still have room for the battery and wire's?

Took a quick look and the LED doesn't seem to have a control board attached. There isnt any spare room along side the battery, the only space would be inside the switch compartment but there is no display board that I know of that would fit. I'm trying to mount a LCD board myself into the larger Mark-V model and the only way I can see to do it is to mount it inside the bottom end cap on the switch side of the box.

If I want to start making VV with LCD standard, I will probably have to design a box for it. Ah well ...

The ones madvapes sells are the smallest any of us have been able to find so far to my knowledge. Breaktru and parallelx would know for sure. I know one of them was hunting for a smaller one too.

Honestly I think the bottom would be the perfect spot. The display in your face gets old after awhile On the bottom youd only see it if you looked.

hey, Brian! have to ask you this.
if i ever have to repair any of the electronics on my box is there a way to "unglue" it?

The glue I use is strong but brittle, apply sideways torque hard enough and the switch/battery tabs should pop loose. If the switch or battery tabs ever come loose, just a dab of super-glue should do the trick or a bit of epoxy.

:)

The hard part is I don't have a tool to easily make a perfectly rectangular hole in the end cap. I think I will try an engraving bit in the router and see how that works. I don't want to do it half-azzed and fit a square peg in a round/oval hole.

It needs to be about 1/2" thick as well to contain the LCD body, then a bit more space on top for the PCB.

I hope someone finds a smaller package, or flexible LCD or oled, something has to be out there..

it seem's Lcd is the way to go since it's easy. I'm more of a check as I go since I stick with a atomizer till it burn's out, since I stick with one atomizer I find the setting and leave it till i have to use a new one and some time's I get lucky and don't have to switch anything.

I Like the idea of it being on the bottom since you can get it out of the face.
