See here is my problem. I also have protected Trustfire 18350 Batterys and 2 of those bairly fit no spacer needed. However my AW IMR's need 4 spacers. This isn't a big deal to me because I can just get wider magnets (spacers) and only use 1 but if he makes it to much smaller protected batts might not work. Although if I recall correctly he also said the new ones will take 16340 I believe so 18350s is a moot point.

I've always been careful when designing to allow the biggest batteries that are commonly used to fit, even if just barely and then use spacers for the smaller ones, no other choice unless I sell multiple sized mods for different battery brands and that is just crazy talk :D

It does look like 16340 batteries are beginning to rule the day so I am looking closely at making that the battery of choice for RSMs as well.

Ok I have a stupid question for Cappy or anyone else who knows enough about electronics to answer.

I have been using my Cutlass with 1.5 ohm DC cartos at 5.1v. Now if I am doing this right I was looking at an Ohm's Law Calculator and putting this info it is showing I am at 3.4 amps however according to the RSM website the Cutlass has a 3.0 Amp switching regulator. Am I risking damaging my RSM do I need to cut my voltage down?

Sorry for the dumb question I just don't want to fry anything.

I like the 18350. My current go-to mods are my P+, GG & Cutlass. All happily powered with AW IMR 18350's.

I just wanted to mention about redesigning the cutlass to 2"x1" in size, is that it would also greatly open up the options of wood types. As I'm sure anyone who has shopped for wood quickly realizes is that the bigger the piece you need, the smaller the options. If I could get the sizes of all these down to 2" x 1" I could get my hands on just about ANY type of wood to use, arrr!

I have a set of trustfire 16340 in my cutlass right now that fit great. No spacer needed..

I use 16340s without a spacer as well. They aren't as tight as the 18350's but they stay put. I also seem to get longer life out of my 16340's. I don't know the size diff between the aw and other 16340's. Mine are trustfire flame jacket.

Same here.. i think you get better life because they are a higher MAH

Arr, holy crap, according to the calculator its at 17 watts! I didn't even know it would handle that. I typically run all mine between 8-9 watts, more than that and it tastes burned.

I vape caramel juices that seem to like it. Maybe I will dial it back a bit to try to get it below 3 amps just I'n case. I don't want to mess up my electronics.

Btw in my gg I like 6v with my dcs I tried that on my rsm and it kinda wigged out won't be doing that again.

Also my cutlass was set to 5.1 when I got it so I just kinda left it there.

On the battery size issue my AW 18350s say they are 750 mah my 16340s say 550 so I'n theory all things being equal the 18350s should last longer. That being said I would rather a mod be 2mm wider to allow longer vape time jmho though

I think the trustfires and ultrafires are rated at 880mah which is what phcela and i are using.. I get great batt times on those as well..

Hey Cappy, does it really matter if we use IMR or protected batt?? I know it makes a diff with the lr stuff, but what about VV?

I've used protected batts since I graduated into mods and never had second thoughts about it. If I have to replace batteries after 14 hours instead of 16 hours I really don't care. I like the fact that they shut off as soon as they reach low level and they are fire and forget.

Even there trustfire 18350s are 1200 mah and the 16340 are 880 so It should be the same thing in theory they should last about 40% longer

Again I won't be buying any mods till march or so but I personally prefer the 18350
