Come to think of it tho, unless your just trying to make sure you don't nuke your atomizer, seems that I adjust the voltage until I am getting the throat hit, vapor production I want and don't really care what the voltage is.

I mean, it's kinda neat to be able to say I vape at such and such a voltage, but once you find the sweet spot do people with VV change the voltage daily? Multiple times a day? I set mine at 4-8 to 5.2 volts, close as I can get to 5v and never change it again.

Maybe I'm missing out in some fun, yar?

Wow, the recent posts have read my mind, as I just posted some of these questions a few hours ago in a different sub-fourm. Thanks for the answers!

Just had to check in on my pirate crew this Friday night.

Ahoy Lass! Yup, the crew be restless, reminding the ol' captain that he better check his course afore he crashes into a reef!

As I mentioned earlier tho, I will set the units for 5v default, so even without a meter handy at first you can enjoy higher voltage vaping without nuking atties.

arrrr...

I'm still going to check out the Madvapes alternative, maybe order one of the cigtechs voltage checkers as well, if one of them fits the bill I can always get some in stock and offer them to people who need them.

This caught me kinda by surprise.. arrrr

I don't think you'll have any issues with that screw on meter. I've been using it for quite a while on mods with linear and switching regulators and no problems. The only ones I've tried it with and found it didn't work were Egos and Rivas and who really wants them for that. :)

A multimeter is more versatile and usually cheaper but it's hard to beat the convenience of screwing it on and pushing a button. It also checked loaded if a atty or carto is screwed into the top.

Arrr! Awesome mate, glad to hear that it will be an easy solution. Will be handy for me here in the shop as well, thanks a bunch for the thumbs up on it.

Ahoy, time for my going to bed update ... I think my hours are actually getting later than earlier. Oh well ...

All the Mark-IV's are done and have gotten their 3rd coat of finish. Sat afternoon another coat, then sunday morning the last so I can ship them monday.

I had a few unclaimed ones that I put on the website, VV and 3.7v buccaneers and another scallywag also waiting on a new home. I'm finally building up a small inventory to post on the website so everything doesnt read 'Out of Stock' for the visitors.

I sure wish I knew what people were talking about when they mention other makers box mods. I wonder if it would look odd if I bought one of them and took a look at it, maybe even use the thing. I can see it now, "Brians mods suck so much he has to buy mine cause his don't work! har har har"

I suppose if I would have had the cash to blow on someone else's box mod I would have never tried my hand at making my own, just stuck with making bird houses, picture frames and jewelry boxes. My dad was a carpenter and I've loved working wood my whole life. Maybe it turned out well after all.

Ok, tomorrow I work on more scallywags.

Night

If you really really want one, I will just put a kit together for you during my next Mark-IV run. Basically I will just set one aside before I start sanding and it will essentially be in kit form.

Sound good?
Thank you for posting the pics, Brian! It does look great!
I'd also be interested on a DIY VV kit. just like that 414 i missed :)
can you tell me whats the wood used on that beautiful piece of art?

Morning Captain
Im from a family of carpenters too. If your boxes look half as good in person as they do in pics you have nothing to worry about!
You can always watch videos of others box mods if you r curious

My driftwood made Tyler and is glued and a single coat of oil has been applied. I will get some pics up soon.

The woodwork done prior to delivery has made it rather simple to get the thing together and looking pretty good even without the electronics in it yet.

I wish I could leave more woodworking for the kit builder, but the tooling I do requires routers and drill presses.
Looking forward to pics.

Sure, that was Padouk with Yaya end caps and inlay.

I've seen video's, when I first started up with e-cigs I browsed most of the ones available on youtube. Many of them had pretty good outside work, but seemed like the builders assumed the buyers wouldn't really care what the inside looked like as long as it worked. Maybe I'm being too critical, or my perfectionist OCD is talking again. Yarrr..

Hope you all enjoy the weekend!

Oh good grief, the haters are attacking. Apparently I have stolen everyone else's ideas to make my box.

I must admit, I stole the idea of putting a switch on it.

I admit, I totally ripped off the idea of letting the owner have access to the batteries.

I confess! I decided not to hardwire a atomizer on it and let the buyer be able to screw on another one if they want.

I give! I used the rectangle in my box design!

I connected a BOTTLE to the ATOMIZER and I didn't think of a new way to do it! I used a hose and a tube, how dare I! I should have used Teleporation, magic even. I am scum ...

Har har har har!! I can't believe people are like this...

I don't think you can patent 4 wheels, a steering wheel and a rectangular body when you design a car, everything I've seen on everyones mods is a old idea put into a different package. You can quote me on that.

I needed a good laugh tho.... Arrrr .. rant over...

WTH are you talking about?

Exactly my point, WTH are people talking about?

There have been posts that I have ripped off 'so and so's' design to make my box. Some of these comments are so stupid I can actually feel my IQ dropping a few points just from reading them.

It's a box. It has a power source, an activation switch and a connector. How in the world can I be original? People have been ripping off that design since 400 BC.

oh well, back to work..

I have never put a meter on my Buzz or Ali'i VV. I don't care what the voltage is. I adjust for the flavor I'm looking for in my juice. In the morning, it's pretty light. In the evening after a couple Dark & Stormys, I crank it up. :D
