Le noir et le blanc ébène est aussi appelée le « pâle lune ébène » d'où mon choix. Voici un lien de bois d'identification que vous pourriez apprécier. Vous peut également rechercher asiatique Marblewood;-)

Exotic Wood ebony, pale moon

Exotic Wood marblewood

C'est un très joli marblewood en bois et n'est pas très cher comme bois d"ébène ou ziricote. Je vais faire un peu plus avec marblewood, j'espère que vous avez tous comme cela. :)

I don’t speak very well English but i understand a little.

Me too, i say thanks to the translation software.

And thanks to you also. You are a great guy.:toast:

Avec plaisir. Je devrais peut-être faire un thread pour nos amis de l'étranger. J'ai effectué des ventes à l'Allemagne, la France et l'Italie. Nous pourrions voir comment mal nous parlent d'autres langues officielles et de s'amuser.

(My pleasure. Perhaps I should make a thread for our overseas friends. I have made sales to Germany, France and Italy. We could see how badly we speak other languages and have some fun.)

Cappy? What dimension of wood do you need for a mod? Body only & body w/matching end caps? Been window shopping:facepalm:

For a Buccaneer, the minimum working dimensions would be two 3.4 x 1.4 x 1.2 and I lose a bit during sanding. The end caps are around 2.8 x 1.2 x .4 and I need 3 for a built in led. The final dimensions are 3.4x1.3x1.05 and 2.6x1.05x.35. Basically the first set of dimensions would allow me to sand and shape them for a prefect fit down to the second set of dimensions. That help?

Yep, think so. So 3.4x1.4x1.2 *could* have matching end caps if desired? Of course I would run anything by you as to it's toxicity and workability. I'm a slave to beautiful woods:laugh:

I didn't know you were doing custom mods......what kinds of woods would you work with?

Arrrr, more lovelies to wet your whistle. The shipwright is busy and the next round 'r sure to be on the horizon

About to call it quits for the day, here are a couple pics of the current state of the next 3 VV/led mods. Wenge with cocobolo, Spalted Koa with Guyana rosewood and Cocobolo with figured Black walnut. All taken btw.

Are you thinking of making one of your own from scratch? Sounds fun :)

I'm not, as far as I know, heh. I used to do preorders as you recall, but I stopped as it caused me grief on multiple levels. Once I take a preorder I am no longer my own boss, and I don't want quality to suffer because I am trying too hard to keep a schedule. I still take special requests from friends of the forum tho, as they usually are aware of my schedule and what is being built and when.

I suppose a short update would be nice. I have 4 mods sitting drying and ready for the final stages of building, they should be ready to sell/ship by probably tuesday.

Shortly I am going to clean/inventory and get back to work. I have some new material to work with along with a firmer grasp of some contour designs for each individual mod I do to make them even more unique than they are now.

Some of the new body woods you can look forward to seeing are;

Macassar Ebony
Ziricote
Chakte Viga
Granadillo
Zebrawood
Honduran Rosewood

along side the usual bodies made from;
Marblewood
Sycamore
Purpleheart
Bocote
Black Cherry
Wenge
Padauk
Koa
Red Maple

As you can see, the selection of wood has taken a huge leap forward, and thats not even including the additional end cap woods I've been collecting. Fun times are just starting me 'earties! yarrr

I will be concentrating on the VV+led mods, as that is the current demand, when that starts to fall off I will again start to fill in the gaps and make more 3.7v bucks, perhaps even more scallywags (although they never really sold well, there is still a small market).

The Cutlass I was planning on making was pushed out of the way by the Buccaneer with VV+led with varying contours and edging. So it looks like the Cutlass Mark-V is going to be reserved for the NEXT type of box mod. Wonder what I should make? I think I have most of the bases covered now, lol.

The Red Sky appears to be ship-shape with a steady wind at our backs me 'earties!

thats what I thought but reading different posts lately made me wonder if you'd changed your mind...
I think those who really appreciate fine woodworking skills can always find one of your ready mades
to their liking....:)

I hope so, but if someone yells, "Hey Brian, can you throw together a Oinka glub glub wood mod, with Cyan stinky root end caps for me next batch?" I will do that. No promised delivery date, but I will make a note and give them first dibs when done. :)

(edit; Did I just open the flood gates? Hmm, could be a good thing, maybe)
