Good morning all, happy sunday!
I'm hoping both the Cutlass & Wench revisions will be ready to go by next batch.
The auction ends on my white teak tonight. I need to stop trying to get it for cheap and just bite the bullet.

I'd dare a guess that the Cutlass revisions would include making it easier for Cappy to work on the wiring. As is, if the wiring randomly goes bonkers (as happened to mine while still with the master), Cappy has to cut into the bottom endcap.
Not that I mind. I daresay, the bottom cap on mine looks pretty snazzy with the different redheart grains!
Agree with ya there SD. While it should look the same externally, I wish to have side panel access and the ability to replace individual components if needed. Not only will that make production faster it will save on repair bills in the long run if a mod fails out of warranty. I've got a good prototype of the body for the basic no frills Mark-6 wench, and a bit more tweaking to do on the Mark-7 Destroyer (inset tank mod). The Mark-6.1 will be simply a wench with a voltage display and dual mode.
The models I hope to produce and support are as follows;
Mark-3 Scallywag; 14500 3.7v bottom feeder (no frills)
Mark-4 Buccaneer, 18650 3.7V bottom feeder (no frills)
Mark-5 Cutlass, 18350 dual mode 3.7v/VV + voltage display, On/Off, Mode switch, bottom feeder
Mark-6 Wench, 16340 VV non-feeder, On/Off switch (optional voltage display & dual mode, the unit will be slightly larger)
Mark-7 Destroyer, 16340 VV + voltage display, On/off, Inset tank mod (tank inset approximately 1.3" into body)
Time will tell if that all works out or not, but it is what I am striving for anyway, arrrr
So the Destroyer is back on? I am sooo happy to hear that, and even happier to hear that it will accommodate a tank! I hope to be one of the first happy Destroyer owners.Any idea what the dimensions needed for wood on the Mark 7 would be Cappy?
I didn't even check to see if I had batteries for the Wench. Fortunately, I had ordered some batts for a Chameleon that I have that will work. I almost got sad for a minute. Should have batteries and a Wench tomorrow!![]()
The one you are getting is designed for 18350 batts, 16340 will work with magnet spacers.
I already have batts for the Destroyer thanks to my Saber Touch.I should probably get some AW IMR's, though. I'm partial now. The batts I have are just Trustfires. And now to go look for wood worthy of a Destroyer.
Cappy, any idea when you will start making the Destroyers? I am willing to be a guinea pig.I know anything you make will be fantastic whether it's the first or the hundred and first! Still, I've got a slot on batch 8 and if you don't think a design at that point is possible, I might consider dropping my name until you're ready.
