2x 3.2v batteries, full charge = 2x 3.6 = 7.2v. Deduct the 1.2 and you get 6v to play with. Circuit works as long as two batteries provide the circuit with 5v to operate. With the batteries you mentioned, the mod will still work as long as you have 3.1v load in each of them. Most people who care about their batteries will charge them around that value or higher anyway. If someone spends that much on the mod, spending 5,5$ for a pair of random brand 3.7v 16340 or 5.8$ for some random 18350 shouldnt be an issue, wich give the circuit 8,4v to play with, deduct the 1.2 = 7.2 max setting.

3.0v and 3.2v is only the nominal state, just as the 3.7v batteries charge to 4.2v actual.

The only blue county in Texas!
@ Sallie - Last I heard, he was taking names for batch 12, but it's possible he's up to batch 13 by now.

@ Duekster - the RCR123a's should absolutely work up at 5 volts and further in the RSM. They are really very well made mods that work beautifully. I've tried many, many mods and these are by far my favorite. There are a few video reviews of the older models that should give you an idea of the excellent craftmanship on these... though, I don't think there is a Destroyer video yet. I will be remedy that later this week! I just don't want you to miss out on an outstanding mod because of a battery misunderstanding or any other reason that might be due to a misunderstanding....

Ahoy, good morning everyone, spent the last couple hours dealing with E-Mail & PMs.

There will be some changes concerning the ordering of RSMs, I am going to think the entire process over carefully and decide what is the best course of action I need to take to ensure I am able to continue making mods.

Trying to please people so much that I let the ship founder and sink is a course I need to steer away from and that is exactly where I am headed atm.

I would suggest if you are thinking of buying wood to not do that until our new course is set.

I happen to like the LiFe chemistry as they are safer, particularly for air travel as I do fly a fair amount. However they don't charge up very high and the cut out. They are fairly easy to find and buy too.

Isn't IMR type battery just as safe?
I ordered AW icr 123 protected 750mah 16340's for my Destroyer just because the mah is higher.
Is anyone using or planning on using those? Hope they fit alright.

You got the protected one which is what most people use. The LiFe are not protected but don't need to be either. There are pro's and con's to each type.

They should work fine without having to use the spacers. I usually get the AW IMRs because I have and have had mods that will only work with those because of the small size. They don't have the protection circuit, but the chemistry involved doesn't require it. They work for me and they're 3.7v.

Is this going to eeffect the people currently on a batch number? Like batch nine for example? Lol

For the short run yes. Please understand that from my point of view the batch lists have several bad affects for me.

I cannot innovate. Once I take an order I can no longer let creativity take hold. Remember when the mods used to have individual inlays, designs, edging and such? I would like to be able to occasionally offer a more unique mod again.

This batch had 14 people on the list, 3 cancelled when approached to pick wood, 6 cancelled after I had started or decided they did not want the mod after completion. Each batch I do has this problem, usually not this severe but it still happens. What a time sink the whole process has turned out to be.

Yes, Time!. Since I started taking pre-orders, the 2 week process has turned into a nearly 3 week process. I can only attribute the extra 4 or 5 days as lost to administration dealing with the pre-order process and the dozens and dozens of PMs and E-Mails needed to get the batch started, answer questions and the final batch disposition.

Arggg, I can go on talking about deadlines, stress, material management and such, but lets stop here.

I need to get back on track, for now I am putting the batch lists aside and getting back to the basics. Ya? Yarr!

Oh yes, I have people who are on a batch list that I wont even start for 4 months, what are the chances they will still even want a RSM? It's getting silly ....

I'll still want one Cappy. I'll pay for it now if that makes it easier. I like the fact that you let peoples have a say in the 'design' so to speak. But I could understand the constraints that would put you under.

You want carte blanche? You're more than welcome to do that for mine. All I ask is for the custom engraving that I pm'd you about a while back. I'd like it menacing. It is a Destroyer after all.

You are an example of another benefit of this. You are number 38 I think on the waiting lists, probably 2 or 3 months down the road? But you have become a friend of the thread and people who are active on the thread will know before anyone else when I am putting up mods for sale and will have a big jump on everyone else and so reward the active people.

If you see one you like, simply buy it off the website, shoot me a E-Mail describing the engraving you would like me to put on it and I can do it after the fact. Simple :)
