I use the same tanks. I got one of Cappy's first batch of Destroyers. It was a snug fit because of the design, but Cappy fixed it for mine and Hubby's, so they all fit perfectly. I was under the impression that he was going to modify the design from that point on so that the DCTanks would fit, no problem. Do you have one of the mahagony Destroyers from the 1st batch?

Thanks ime...Yea, I need to know if everyone is using the 3ml or the 5ml tanks when they talk about which ones fit and which ones don't. I guess in the future, I'll have to email the suppliers for measurements (and hope they know or have a caliper to measure them). I'd rather use the 5ml because I can go for a few days on one fill that way, but I'm okay with the 3ml if that's all that'll fit.

See my reply to cherewine.
I was going to suggest that since couple weeks ago and I kept forgetting~! nice!

Are you serious.... I was on that coop and I'm still waiting for my tanks to arrive for my destroyer.
I ordered 5 which was the minimum. Is the diameter too big and tight???
narrrrrrrrrrr~!

The Destroyers do have a little bit more room to hold a slightly larger tank. I suppose the owners could carefully take a bit of sand paper to the inside of the tank hole to make it bigger. Fold some 120 or160 grit sandpaper into a 'U' shape around a dowel or your finger and have at it. Couldn't make it much bigger, but a bit....

Ahoy, good morning all, arrr

Back to the tanks, the actual diameter of the tank hole is .78" to allow room for a .75" tank. This is as big as I could make them without sanding into the surrounding walls or making the mod bigger. There is no way I can make a mod big enough to handle the bigger tanks, or rather I don't want to even try, so I picked 3/4" as a good trade off for mod size and many of the most popular tanks on the market.

Ok...Now that I've got a Destroyer...I'm havin' a hard time with tanks that fit. I tried using a few of my Smoktech DC tanks (from Madvapes and from a coop held by My4jewels (w/ the Polypropylene tubes)...but NONE will fit *deep sigh* They're just a TITCH too tight, thus, the carto won't screw down all the way. I have a few of the 3ml ones that fit and ONE DC Map tank that fits. Thank goodness I have SOMETHING that's do-able for now *another deep sigh* Has anyone else had any problems using the larger (5ml size I believe) Smoktech tanks (if you've tried them that is)??
The Smoktech DC tanks I got from Madvapes fit in my Destroyer fine. The first pic is a black Smoktech DC tank. The 2nd pic is a chrome one and the 3rd pic is one from Jewels co-op. They all fit in mine fine.

On the 1st batch of Destroyers, the bottom of the tank well, where the tank sits had a slight "U" shape. I sent mine back with a DCTank, and Cappy levelled it off for me. It appears that all of the Destroyers are now made a flat area for the tank to sit on.

yarrr, mine looks just like the Big Fran's so I'm sure the tanks would fit on mine too.
I'm planning on using boge cartos on those so I just bought a pipe cutter and practiced cutting on an unusable tube. I get nice clean cut, but it could be cleaner with a dowel I guess. I'll check home depot soon.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. My Destroyer is from Cappy's last batch (Redheart ones). I'll just try Cappy's suggestion about sanding the sides of the opening a bit. As he stated, there's not much room left for sanding, but I wouldn't need much, I don't think. I'll let you all know how it goes ;)

UPDATE: I used my Dremel with a couple different sanding bits and took a wee bit from the hole but it was still a no-go. SO, I then proceeded to trim some of the sidewall off (on the button side) down inside as it appeared that the tank wasn't clearing it and it worked. So far, I have been able to use my Smoktech tanks that I bought from jewels! Hope this will help those that may run into the same problem as I did ;)

Awesome! You need to start a RSM modification/customization service methinks, arrrrr :)

p.s. swab a llittle 'Howards' on the inside and I bet it looks good as new.
