hi everyone,
i am new to the whole idea of e-cig smoking and new to this forum

am about to purchase one, but can't figure out how compatible are cartridges between different makes and models
i.e. can I buy e-cig from one manufacturer and then use cartridges from another?

I wanted to give an e-cig as a present, but the person using it will need to know what & where from to buy the cartridges thereafter

many thanks for your responses, and if you know if this topic has been discussed somewhere on this forum, please head that direction

I bought a penstyle from a company, then I bought another one from an individual. They are not the exact same style but all the parts were interchangeable....carts, atomizers and batteries (lucky for me!). The only problem was the chargers....different volts....can't switch the batteries around to charge (as I hear it).

She/He will probably want liquid more than cartridges once she/he gets going (which is another story) but overall, yes, the parts are interchangeable (at least on mine they were).

Hello, this should probably be in a different thread. Anyway, the simple answer is cartridges are usually not compatible with different models. The fact is though that most companies sell more or less the same generic models.

The other thing to bear in mind is that cartridges are refillable. You buy the nicotine liquid separately (sometimes it is called "e-liquid"). This is the most economical way to use these e-cigs.

The thread as usual seams to have deviated, As a reliable product I have found the DSE901 to be good, I'm still on my first atomiser. I have also found Pillbox38 to be a reliable supplier, He is the only supplier I have dealt with and his service has always been excellent, and as I like to use Totally Wicked juice I am more than happy to continue buying my supplies from him.

I have used the following suppliers and am happy to recommend them:

E-cigs.co.uk
Heavens Gifts
Pillbox38/Totally Wicked
Smokejuice

My favourite to deal with is E-cigs. I do wish their stock levels were a bit better sometimes - they seem to have a very quick turnover of the popular items and stuff on their website is commonly sold out. But their speed of service cannot be faulted.

Wayne at Heavens Gifts is a gent to deal with. Delivery by EMS from China was a bit longer than I expected, much longer than I've experienced with orders from Japan for example, but that is hardly his fault.

Pillbox38 has been fine for me, and are very quick. The TW liquid is good. However my brother did have an issue with an order from them (order went missing) which I think could have been handled better.

Smokejuice were fine. They have very limited stock however, I hope he gets more in.

If you don't mind I would like to bring the threat back to cartridge/puffs usage. I’m a newb here but from what I read so far it seems to me that Robw has a point when saying that 1 cart is equal 1 cig pack by nicotine content only. Let’s take for simplicity 20mg nicotine cart for SuperMini like DSE103 vs. 20 regular cigs w/1mg nicotine per each. Both contain 20mg, no problem here.

Now, if 1 SuperMini cart lasts 40puffs, which assuming 20puffs per regular cig makes 1 cart equals 2 regular cigs that CONTAIN TOTAL OF 2MG ONLY!
Therefore per Trog100 calculations, we have one 20 a day smoker vaping in avg of 4 carts a day and getting what? 4x20mg = 80MG of nicotine instead of only 20mg with regular pack?

So is he killing himself with nicotine this 20/day poor fella or what? I’m confused.,,,

…thanks in advance for all enlightening.

figure this one out Aleksus. no matter what model you have some suppliers claim 20 cigs = 1 cart.

Super mini cart hold 0.3ml of liquid = 20 cigs
901 ( mini) cart holds 0.5ml of liquid = 20 cigs
Classic (pen) cart hold 0.9ml of liquid = 20 cigs

Claims are false just looking at that. thing is no matter which carts u buy , they are the same price .

if you count the carts you are using , nic intake all depends on which model e-cig you have. As you can see 4 super mini carts doesnt 4 classic carts make :)

Thank you ApOsTle51,
I understand what you are saying but truly I care less what suppliers say because I look at the product specs.
Let's concentrate on SuperMini only. I still see that if I vap 1 cart with 40 puffs (which looks like 1 minisuper cart lasts for) i will consume specified nicotine quantity which will be 18mg for High cart, which will in general substitute 1 regular pack a day.
40 puffs equal 2x20puffs per reg cigarette = 2 reg cigarettes (by puffs only).

therefore I CAN'T smoke more than 1 cart a day, more than 2 times a day with more than 20 puffs per smoke break, if I want to be consistent with the amount of nicotine I'm getting with regular cigs.

If I smoke 4 carts as Trog100 says regular smoker does, boy, I'll be consuming equivalent of 4 reg packs a day by nicotine level.
Hope somebody will prove me wrong.

So far, I bought my 901 from Jane at electroniccigarettesales.com, parts from Katy at thesmoklessshop.com, and juice from Steve at Puresmoker.com.

Jane sent me an extra bottle of juice because I couldn't choose a flavor having never tried any of them.

Katy responded to my email almost immediately and was willing to sell me an item she does not have listed on her site.

Steve got my juice to me almost across the country over the course of a weekend.

I have been vaping this 901 for a month now with NO problems other than being a newb and making a few mistakes, including running the atomizer dry.

All three are members of this forum, have been very helpful with answering my questions, and have supplied an attractive, reliable product. I see them here helping on the forum quite often. I have great respect for them and will be doing business with them again. Right now I am ordering a David Yang penstyle from Gashin - will keep you all posted.

which one is the 901 cig that jane sells?

If you look on Jane's site - there is a link in the Suppliers List(look along the top of this page) -, she calls it the "Silver Bullet". She is the only one I have seen selling it in silver. Most others sell it in black or white. They are all the dse901 model.

Hey folks,

Just want to add my take on e-cigs.co.uk to this thread.

Bought my first ecig, a DSE901B from them 6th October. The package arrived right on time. There was a slight problem, a cable was missing (the box was there, but empty) and a few of the cartridges I was expecting (5 of the 10 free carts offer) were also missing. I Mentioned this on their website support form and got a prompt response. The missing items arrived the next day.

As for their juices, I've now bought 10ml Like Smoke, 10ml Roast smoke, 15ml 555 (actually only ordered 10ml!), 15ml Cherry and 15ml Coffee. As I'm sure many have found, some of the flavours weren't quite what I hoped they would be but even my least favorite I've grown accustomed to. 555 is my favorite day to day smoke so far. Roast smoke I found a bit strong flavoured at first, Like smoke is somewhere in between 555 and Roast smoke and is a close second for day to day smoking. Cherry is a subtle but pleasant flavour. Coffee was a bit dissapointing at first, I think I had imagined a nice dark strong coffee flavour, but of course the reality is much sweeter (if you like suggery coffee you might be fine!). I'm am liking it as a mixer though, it goes quite well mixed with cherry or Roast Smoke :)

I've also ordered one spare atomiser from them and glad to say both my atomisers are still working well (I tend to use one for daytime vaping and the other for sweeter flavours in the evening).

3 days ago I ordered a spare battery along with the coffee flavour (one of the originals died, but that gave me an excuse to make a USB cable so I hadn't asked for a replacement). My new battery arrived and although it worked, had a very heavy draw that made it rather impractical for general use. Yesterday I sent a support note about this, and today a new battery arrived, plus a pre-paid envelope for returning the dodgy one.

When little things such as these mostly outside of the distributors control go wrong, it at least gives you the chance to test their customer service, and I certainly couldn't have hoped for any better. They are prompt to reply, polite, helpful, and the problems get solved fast.

So, e-cigs.co.uk, you get a big :thumb: from me :)

Hey there!

I'm new to this forum and would like to know if anyone has ordered and actually received a starter kit from smokenotar. Saw their advert in the Sunday paper and checked out their website - very nice and professional looking. It all sounded great and I decided to give it a go on 22 Nov., ordered starter kit and 50 refills. Originally I was hoping to introduce the e-cig to my friends on my birthday on 29th Nov., but realised it might be a bit tight as it said "allow 7 days" in my order confirmation.
Normally, when I order from UK suppliers, it takes no more than 2-3 days for the product to arrive here in Ireland. After 10 days, I contacted smokenotar by email to inquire about the delivery, maybe get a tracking number. No reply whatsoever. I do a lot of online business, but this never happened to me before. My second, more urgent mail was equally ignored. Today, I gave them one more chance to react - all to no avail.
We are running a small business as well, and I realise that things don't always go as planned when you start off. BUT YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS.
Anyone out there who can give me advice, please?

Everyone I've dealt with has been excellent (that's Intellicig, Pillbox and e-cigs.co.uk). Equally every "classified" deal I've done through this site has been first class - but that's because there are some great people on this forum;). In the final analysis the prize for top service goes to John at Intellicig who has been unfailingly helpful and sends parts out at the speed of light!:)
