As far as an authentic REO vs a cloned REO, i would never pay the asking price for an authentic because i never thought an authentic REO was worth anywhere close to what they sell at .

It's a small aluminum enclosure with the most basic of internals , i expect the basic cloned REO's aluminum enclosure to be every bit as good , the aluminum enclosures on the Hana clones are as tough, and imo more rugged than anything out there .

The only thing that is worth paying more money for is the Reomizer which is the most important part imo , so thats worth paying for but the enclosure , no way .

What Rob charges for the enclosures is nuts , don't care if their hand made , it's an aluminum enclosure .

Many others will gladly pay the price but i just never saw the value for the money in what your actually getting, there's just nothing to it , in my opinion of course.

No worries man. I over reacted a bit.
I ran out of coffee this morning and haven't been right all day
:)

I honestly think with the right game plan, Rob will reap huge benefits from the clones.

No REO customer will buy a clone over a legit REO.
Not a single one.

However, tons of newly grown bottom feed enthusiast WILL graduate to the best made squonkers after developing their taste on cheap clones.
Clones will take squonking global.

With proper guidance, REO will explode(figuratively) with growth.

I'd brace myself and prepare my shop for the flood of new customers about to knock on his door.
Rebuild that horrible website and get those products out there.

And buy some good shades
Robs future is extremely bright.

I hear ya herb. If I had a dollar for every time I've read a similar post about the cost of REOs on here and when the people actually got one they recanted everything they said and bought more of em I could buy you a good steak brother. A real good one, with a few top shelf drinks too. :) :)

Man, you'd straight shizz yourself if you see what my latest two mech squonkers cost bro. Like the REO, worth every penny IMO.

Am I the only one who spent about the cost of a REO and an atty every month on cigs and flicked them out the window of my car when I was done smoking the nasty things for like 30 years?

I could toss my REO out the window of my car every month and still be in the black, then Springsteen could revise the words to his song to "highways lined with workin REOs on a last minute power drive". Don't ask me how I know those words. I hate old music. :)

Thanks for the post , i am not saying REO's aren't worth it to everybody , just seems to me they are not a complicated device where it's worth buying an authentic over a clone , i doubt the aluminum enclosure on the clone isn't tough as nails just like the authentic.

I can't say that for the other parts though , i bet they are complete garbage.

So they copied a real REO pic instead of actually showing their clone , so what you get will not look identical to what is shown i assume .

That would be my assumption. Hell, they may not even be produced yet. A lot of the Chinese pre-order stuff is basically just a feeler to see if it'll be worth it to do a production run. Get enough pre-orders and spin up the machines. If not, issue refunds.

90% of clones featured on Alibaba and other Chinese sites has pics from the original it was copied... This is for the same reason that inswva already mentioned. Most are feeler ads placed to drum up interest. Been that way for a very long time.

What're you tryin to say bro? I owe ya a dollar?? :p (...ooh gotta be quicker than that..)
Although I did say this AFTER I received my REO. The biggest thing for me is this damned plastic button. That in itself to me is what makes this mod feel cheap.
However I currently have one Sunbox sitting in Italian Customs since the 12th on its way back for repairs and my new E8 has the DNA40 screen glitch.
So right now I'm sitting here loving the hell out of my little simple REO. I have found that by removing the button cover and just using the plastic nub the button feels a helluva lot better than it ever did before.
I don't feel it's overpriced any more.

(I do have a 2015 Woodville that had to go back for something minor but I mailed it out Monday and Rob should get it today. Sure as hell beats waiting on Customs:) )

someone got mad a bunch of months back because i'd never pay the regular price for a reo as i felt it wasn't worth the price...$100 for a 75 cent piece of metal and bottom feeders before rda's didn't impress me

but for this price i'd be willing to try it even though i'm pretty set on devices with usb chargers so it'd be my at home mod

My experience with the Kui, Geyscano, and Smokeless Owl has taught me to wait and see with China-made squonkers. The internals of the Kui mimic the Reo, but inferior spring and firing tab make it almost useless. Yes, the Kui cost a quarter of the price of each of my Reos, but that's about 25 times the cost of the doorstop it replaces now. I look forward to when quality, budget squonkers become more readily available.

LOL Super X I'm going to have to follow you around and pick up that REO you toss out the window!

Responding to you saying the plastic bottle made it seem cheap. Now that I read it again it says button, lmao! Migraines sure mess with my vision  My bad!
Lol, I kinda figured that ;)
Even if you could somehow use a glass bottle I'd drop the mod and break the bottle constantly!

I do think the weak point on this clone will be the screw holding the delrin block in place.
It wouldn't surprise me if a large portion of them will already come with the screw hole stripped out.

Eff clones. Seriously, if you want to try squonking cheap then get that plastic thing in the other thread for $20. Hopefully since Rob has a patent on the REO that he can do something about these.
