they can be done. several folks have made custom doors and posted pics. but i'm guessing Robert would have to charge more than a mod for it to be done without losing money

Just curious... is that a veneer on top of the metal, or all wood that's SUPER thin on the sides?
And... this (that's 500 doors worth of cut veneer in 6 minutes):
Cutting the slices into door sized squares wouldn't take long... sanding a flat top and gluing it to the metal door then?

It is not mechanical because it has electrical contact switches for on/off and fire, some would argue that wires don't belong in a true mechanical device as well.

From the left is Foxy J (my first!), Big Girl (previously-owned purple metallic with a nail polish float blem door), Little Guy- sporting a (pretty badly) homemade textured brass door, and Plum(b) Bob, formerly Miarose's OG mini. Her (yes, Bob is a chick) door was red. Red with plum? Yeah...no. lol Painted, alcohol inked and sealed.

This reminds me of this one time I ate a bag of mushrooms up in the mountains and was engulfed by green... I was wandering around for about 2 days thinking I was some sort of wood gnome living in a jungle of green happiness! Eventually he need for food won and I wound up at 7-11...Man, those were the days!
