Tea bag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This doesn't sound so appealing: Heat-sealed tea bag paper usually has a heat-sealable thermoplastic such as PVC or polypropylene, as a component fiber on inner side of the tea bag surface.

At the top of the Wikipedia article I happened to notice the phrase "'Teabag' redirects here. For the slang term, see teabagging" and thought to myself "I wonder what that means".

Curse the Internet sometimes.

Pete, one more thank you. Genius idea.

Adagio Tea Paper Filters $5 for 100 - Amazon.com: Adagio Teas Paper Filters: Kitchen & Dining

Yeah to that, let's not be wasting our tea! I have a box of these filters that I got at my local coffee & tea joint, it's been gathering dust for a few years so I'm happy to try out this new method. Mine are "Finum" brand, also a box of 100 and in the same long shape. Says they're made of "abaca pulp, cellulose and sealing fibre"... I don't know for sure but I think it's all plant-based fibers. Certainly seems less worrisome than vaping off the poly batting.

I am so pleased the idea is working for quite a few people, there are so many variables that nothing seems to work the same for everyone. Actually I am thinking of testing a few brands of toilet paper but don't tell anyone!.....lmao.

I didn't have much luck with the tea bag or coffee filter (probably due to my own ineptitude) but tried the cheap paper napkin and "BOY"--Works like a Louie.
Can't beat the price either.
You guys are spending way too much on that tea bag business.

Hey Yes the Napkins don't seem to work too bad either, I certainly think it's better than risking vaping any threads of polyester.

Yeh, I tend to prefer the paper napkin too. I didn't have a problem with the teabags but I did find the napkin to be utterly simple.....it's astounding!

Pete, I had the thought about TP too, but remembered that it's water soluble.
That's to help the plumbing I guess.
Probably wouldn't hold together would it ?

Oh yes.. I expect that's probably true.......toilet rolls are out then...lol.....I got a really expensive brand of kitchen paper towel to try and that hardly worked at all, unlike a cheap brand. I have yet to try a napkin.

Has anyone tried laboratory type filter papers yet? I'm going to take some home from work and try them tonight. Both are whatman brand - one is a type 1 ashless paper and the other is a type GF/B glass microfibre filter paper.
I've just remebered I have a pack of Rizla filters I use sometimes for rollups in my car - I'll see if they work as well, although I have a feeling they might be too dense.

Oh my goodness the tea bags work great!!! I only had Luzianne tea in the house so I used that, hopefully they don't add other things to their paper. We use large size bags and when I opened it up it was a large rectangle 7"x5". I cut out the seam side just in case and them cut a piece about 1/2" wide and 4" long and rolled it up, put it in the cart and cut off the excess and crossed my fingers :)

Works fantastic on my 901!!! Actually, the vapor from the juice tastes so much cleaner and the flavor taste is stronger... makes me wonder what was lessening or masking the taste before (I don't want to know). I put about 10 drops in and have been vaping about 30 minutes straight with no problems.

Thank you so much for the suggestion!!! Now, I just have to figure out if Luzianne bags are as pure as Lipton :(

Has anyone tried the Adagio filters from the Amazon link above? I'm a sucker for anything that ships with Amazon Prime :D

Thanks again for the idea :)

I'm going to have to get on this tea bag bandwagon and see how it works. I'm so close to pulling out needle/thread to make the worlds smallest pillow its pathetic - I want the stuffing encased in some type of filtering material.

It's funny how excited I get with new stuff, then after a few weeks I'm thinking "it could be better". I liked the Fluval/Polyester stuffing when I first tried it, now I feel like little fibers are making their way into my mouth when I inhale

LOL, I was waiting for someone to say the words, toilet paper.

I do think I am making my tea bag rolls to thick. I'll just have to keep at it till I get it right. Now, on to paper napkins.
