I also learned another little trick under "Tips & Tricks", look for "Simple and effective way to boost cart performace". I found putting a small pin hole in my cart has worked wonders. I haven't changed my filler at all and I'm actually still on the same cart for days and it has been lasting much longer with less refills in-between. It allows the juice to be pulled from the bottom of the cart while you are drawing.

MlrGrl, I would be more than happy to show you what the hole looks like tomorrow. I actually wasted a couple of carts figuring out where to put the hole, but have it down pretty good now. :)

Look at post #10 on this thread for the best pic I could find on this - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/11765-converted-apc-aaa-usb-battery-pack.html

Tamara, that would be AWESOME!
Thanks for the pics too. I had read about adding a hole to the bottom of the cart, but I was actually thinking they were talking about putting it in a different place and it wasn't making sense to me. That pic was a God send.

I am so excited about tomorrow. Not only because of our 'mission', but also meeting people with the same experienc in something that's so new. After a week of vaping, there are so many tricks and treats to still discover, it makes trying to figure out which model to buy first look so easy!!

BTW; what do you use to poke the hole? Should I bring my little cordless drill, or does heating up a pin with a lighter work just as fine?? LOL
May have to do a search on that so we can poke holes over lunch....

Well since i have a keurig coffee and tea brewer..i do not have traditional tea bags. So upon stumbling into this thread it got me thinking, if the materials that filter my K-cups would work? Well i used my green tea k-cup and tore open an unused one. I emptied the tea and removed the paperish material. I cut a piece and rolled it loosely like a rug and cut its height to the top of the cart. I then dripped 15 drops of Vapor4Lifes 11mg Red Bull Flavor on to the kcup material rolled into the cart. I was very suprised at the amount of vapor and flavor i recieved...cost wise its not dirt cheap...but it worked great and i wanted to throw it out there to you guys.

Tell me how the fluval works out!

I just tried using the ink tube of a pen to wrap the piece of tea bag around then slide it off, and it worked perfectly. :)

Using my supreme knowledge of physics, I first attempted to use a toothpick to wrap it, but it had too much friction to slide it off. Long story short, it ended terribly, so I just folded it in half a bunch of times and stuck it in. It worked decently but not great. The cart didn't last very long, but the vapor amount was good for a bit.

As for the toothpick, I still found utility in it. I stuck it in the middle of the tea bag spiral and spun it in the opposite direction of the wrap to expand the tea bag in the middle as much as possible so the spiral starts at the edges and evenly works towards the center. Maybe this will help with the vape amount and the longevity of a cart fill.

So far, the vape is really good (but it always is with a freshly topped cart), and I haven't had any juice shoot into my mouth. :) That makes my damn day.

Ever since I started experimenting with the napkin, paper towel, and tea bag filler, I have always had the extreme displeasure of occasionally getting a bit of juice with my drag when the cart is freshly topped.

I purchased some anoog filters from a tobacco shop tonight, made a few pin holds in the material after I cut to fit and it works like a charm.. the juice rocks in these! I am not sure how long will hold up but I will let you know.. I pulled out the wool or material from a blank cart, and cut to same size.. poked a few holes and soo far soo good (bout 1 hr).. will see how long the 4 drops I put in last, it may need more but I was afraid of gurning my atomizer. The owner told me its 100% cotton no chemicals.. I am going to contact the comp tomorrow tomake sure but I got a bag of about 200 for 3.50! \
Anyone else try this??

I will try teabag tomorrow.

I'm trying Fluval now. I'll have to report back later on results. I was sick yesterday, and I was nauseated by the smell of my TW Coconut juice. :/

As for tea bag, I wasn't a fan. I always seemed to flood my atomizer and get juice in my mouth with a freshly topped cart. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all bad. The juice flavors were amazing! It was my first solution to the constant taste of burnt plastic that I had with my stock filler material.

In the end, each to his own, and don't knock it till you try it. Give it a go, mate. :)

I tried this with my EVO last night. It holds about 15 drops of fluid, and more vapor than with the original poly.
I tried an unbleached coffee filter strip in my EVO cart, about an inch or so long, and I, too, got 15 to 16 drops in it...and some good vapor and throat hits, too. I'm enjoying some peach juice right now, and it's good...and should last a while with so much juice able to go in. Thanks for the great ideas!

How did it go with the analog filters? Did you take the paper off first?

I'm trying the fluval w/ a piece of coffee stirrer in it in my DSE901 cart, and it is working AMAZINGLY WELL!

It produces a great throat hit, great flavor, and a great amount of vapor.

I have found my perfect solution! :D

*tip*

When cutting the fluval, trim it to approximately the same length as the cart for more juice to be held. I stuffed a long strip in it the first few times, and it only held about 3-5 drops. With it being the cart's length, I can get 10 or so drops in there. :)

As for measuring the cart length, since fluval compresses easily, I used a toothpick. It can be placed in the cart to touch the bottom, then marked to measure the depth of the cart.

As for the filler material, I am using Pondmaster reusable foam media. I bought it for ~$6 at a local pet store in their pond supplies section. The bag came with two foam pads 11-3/4" X 11-3/4" and approx. 1" thick. I only needed a tiny strip for my cart. :p This will last me ages...

I found a link at Pondmaster Foam 2-Pack Filter Pad just to get an idea. Search around for better prices. You should be able to find it locally.

As for the Coffee Stirrer trick, I found this trick on the Cart Mod for better refilling thread.

Best of luck everyone!

I'm using the foam, but I'm having problems with alot of leakage, it's not holding the juice very well. And then I get that bad burnt taste, and the juice is leaking into my hand.

I just started using the Fluval last Sunday.
Through the trails and errors over the week, I've discovered - at least in my case - that while I was cutting it long enough, it wasn't thick enough. Initially, I was making it just wide enough to fit in a 901 cart without really any compression.
I've discovered that if I make the filler twice as thick, it held in the juice quite nicely.

One of these times, when I'm out, I will remember to get some of the straws & give that a try. I had wondered if there'd be any additional benefit to using it with the fluval & it sounds like there is! =)

I just got the fluval foam that fits the 204/205-304/305. I nearly left the parking lot with the wrong product. The "water polishing pad" is not the right product.

At first inspection, it seems this material is definitely synthetic. It is not something I would want to breathe the burning fumes of. With that said, I think cosican is on to something with rolling a tea bag (picked up Lipton 100 pack for $2.50 at Walgreens) around the fluval foam. I plan on cutting a piece about 1/8 of an inch from the atomizer. The only thing I want to contact the atty is the tea bag. The fluval foam will just be there to dispense the liquid. I would also recommend thoroughly rinsing the foam material and letting it dry prior to rolling a filter.

I will post my results sometime within the next 24 hours or so.
