I did see somewhere that the SE comes with a different colored band around the button. Whoopty Doo!
Ooh a presentation box...I'll live. :D That's probably better if this was a gift to someone.
I would go with the cartos, but I have not experienced attys yet, so this will be a nice little experiment for myself. I ended up just getting the Lite bundle, and picked up a 510-901 adapter so I can use the KR8 cartos I already have. Not bad for $35 shipped!
This should tide me over until I get something better (maybe).
Thanks for the quick answers folks.

The SE comes with a ( Edit: correction, used to come with) a 750 mah battery and the lite model comes with a 650 mah battery. When I got my SE 10 months ago the 750 mah size battery was BIG. Now you can get batteries with a much higher mah rating. Mah is a measure of how long the batter will last between charges. For me, an (ex) pack a day smoker, the 750 mah battery lasted me all day.

I just looked at the website. That's the same page I ordered my Riva off of and they changed the description and the batteries. Now the SE only has 650 mah batteries and they have a 3 click button feature. My 750 mah batteries do not have this feature.

It looks like they dumbed down the deal. The SE they offer now is CRAP.

Perhaps they could not get the 750's in the new 3 click feature. Now, the Only difference looks like the atty is a different Ohm. This sucks for you guys. Having to click the button 3 times for on/off is not a big deal. I never had a problem with needing such a feature on my Rivas. I'd much rather have the larger capacity battery.

Now, you can get Riva type batteries at 900 mah or larger. Look around, you may find a better deal. I'm not saying the Liberty Flights SE kit won't work for you but I don't know your needs. if you think you really need one battery to last all day, the 650 mah may not do it.

Hey John
The 3-click feature is definitely important to me. I cook for a living, and if I have a PV in my pocket while I work, that thing would lose of its life from misfires.
650mah sure beats the 250 and 380mah PVs I am currently using, that's for sure.
I couldn't pass up the price on the Riva, and it pretty much fits all of my criteria for what I want in the next evolution of my vaping experience. I might find things I don't like about the Riva and may want to upgrade, but again, at that price, it won't cost me much to find out. I am keeping my eye on VV's and mods for the future, though. ;)

My only conversion to E cigs bought the lite, and loved it. Idea was to spend as little as possible (in case he didn't like e-cigs) but still get a good model.

He was happy for several months until I suggested an eGo T LR atomizer. Like night and day, of course, and now he's REALLY in heaven.

He lost very little money by not starting with the T since he can still use the batteries and charger. Plus, he got Riva batteries which I think are better because they put out more voltage until they're almost discharged.

Hey Billo
Wish I could go back and START with a Riva. LOL
MY first convert will just end up with my V2 kit, until they start whinging about charge time.
It's strange how the original Ego is 3.4V, but every knockoff (KGO, VGO, Riva, etc.) are all 3.7V, but actually stay around 4V on a full charge and settle into the sweet spot.

For the record, the SE actually does not come in a presentation box. I just ordered it for a gift and it came packed in the carrying case, but not in any box. At least I think that's the kit I ordered. I was going to get the Lite but they were out at the time(right before Christmas), so I coughed up the $5 extra. Still well worth it though(especially if it gets my brother to quit smoking!).

Spaceball..

I didn't know that about the voltages. My Rivas start out at 4.1 or 4 volts. Quite a difference from 3.3. Power goes up by (4/3.3) squared , or 47% . Quite an improvement !

Yes, I don't know how I kept with it using the garbage they had 2-1/2 years ago !
The Riva lite is a real Cadillac in comparison !
I beleive the 4V is with no resistance, though, so once you add the atty or carto, it goes down.
That same garbage is still out there, and getting more popular. By that I mean more people are trying the cheap gas station cigs and being turned off to vaping. Fortunately, some do stick around and improve their equipment.

You may have received the Deluxe bundle. The LF site is being uber slow, so I can't check ATM.
We are all rooting for your brother!

I used my Riva for 4 months before I upgraded and then that was only to get a 5 volt passthrough for my computer desk. It was the Riva that got me off cigarettes after 22 years. My research at the time 10 months ago showed it was the best device that would give me a cigarette smoking like experience over the mall type "mini" cigarette size e-cigs. Sure it was a FatBatt and looked like a cigar more than a cigarette but it worked. It worked so well now it's being used to help another smoker get off of cigarettes. For the price and great vape if your on a budget, ya can't go wrong with a Riva from Liberty Flights.

I did kinda dump on them for changing the SE in my last post but in reality the Riva was my life saver.
Don't forget the coupon code.

Riva SE was my FIRST Kit :D

When I bought my Riva kit I wanted the SE more than anything. Idk why but the silver metal appeared more to me then the gold.

The Riva SE has been my FAVORITE kit so far. Everything else just fell short from it.

I might have to pick up another kit sometime, but for now my DIY box mod will have to do.

It's a lot easier to just unscrew the atty / carto one turn than to deal with the clicking. Problem solved.

What other PVs did you try?

you know what never goes off in your pocket and keeps both hands free to cook while you vape?

ah....forget it. I'm even typing with an echo and it's still no use

Point me to a reputable vendor with a great price on the Echo, and I will buy it. Right now. Now now. Now. :D
