Okay that's cool then :) My wick isn't brown yet though -- still pale. (but I vape a DIY menthol that's essentially colorless, except slightly yellow from the nic juice) So is it okay if I just wait to burn it off til I replace the wick?

LOL! The new saying? When in doubt, Squonk!

Yes, perfectly fine to wait! Squonking is great in the RM2. I have never over flooded it. Always the juice goes right down the hole. The problem is squonking enough juice to soak the atty before stopping.

Always remember, there's no such thing as silly questions when it comes to this stuff. .)

I don't burn my coils unless I've pulled out the wick to rewick. Even then, sometimes I don't. . They don't get very bad though - here's a wick that I been vaping for about a week and a coil that's been on there for about 2 weeks :)

ok... I wondered if I was trimming it too short... and when I put the coil in it wasn't touching the bottom but I might have moved it as I was installing or screwing down the screws. My eyes aren't so good ( old). Yes it WAS nice and even, could put the screw driver right back through it so I am guessing perhaps I have too much cotton? And it's a cotton ball. Going to get rolled cotton today from CVS.

If you remove the top cap and fire does all the coil turn red? Or only some parts?

I am thinking you are not getting the wick wet enough. Might have a hot spot that is giving you the burned taste. Longer wick will help. But you also need to make sure you are squonking enough juice in there to wet all the wick.

I press and hold the bottle so the juice stays in the RM2 a little bit before releasing the bottle. When I release it is sucked back down.

It really does make a difference with flavored juices. Especially with the dark and sweet ones. My coil only looks like that till I squonk!

Okay well..my coil doesn't turn red when I hit the power. Sends up clouds but no red... Not sure what that means at ALL

AND mine isn't just dark a little bit. Here's a pic (if I can get it to attach) which is somewhat blurry but the best I could do...

Very dark coil. That doesn't get red. But does vape. Am I doing something wrong?

Looks good to me! Mine don't turn red when I am using them. Unless the wick is dry! Don't want red coils, want them to be soaked with juice and produce clouds of vapor! Red coils would mean the wick is burning. At least with cotton it does.

Damn, Sennie, I'm having tne damnedest time trying to make out anything in those pix. Hard to differentiate coil from wick. Is your coil pointing up when you vape? Is the airhole in front of the coil? If not, they need to be :)

Maybe instead of saying is the airhole in front of the coil (which I didn't really understand at first) maybe you could say....If you were looking through the airhole would you also be looking through the coils. Just a thought to help some people understand. :)

That looks great Y. They only get red if you fire them with no wick installed - or like Karen said. If your wick was to dry out. :)

I took the drip tip off and fired it up and I don't see any of it turning red. The burnt lungs thing might be that it's not wet enough but that doesn't explain the VERY wet vapor I am getting. My lungs actually feel like after I accidentally inhale water and a lot of times it's making me start to cough.

Thank you TM and the answer to that would be "no" because I can't figure out how to get the coils and air hole in the correct position from the way you described it.

what does unflavored taste like?

According to Russ, it tastes exactly like cigarettes. I tried it. Depending on amount of nicotine it ranges from nothing to nothing with a dash of pepper.

Had a cigarette yesterday (stress, and my first vape-aversary). It's disgusting. Definitely worse than unflavored nic.
