Ok got my 2 Reomizers in the mail today. Got some 2.5mm and 3.0mm silica wick from Reo. Already got plenty of kanthal and30 and 32 guage. I'm sorry I didn't get all the way through this thread, but these old eyes are tired and I know if I try to build it tonight, I'll just get frustrated. Still trying to figure out the micro coils. I've been building rba's. Chobra, RSST and ZAP's. Got a AGA t2 also today.
Maybe when I'm a bit more rested I'll give it a shot. On the rba's I use a 3/4 wrap of 30 guage for a 1.0ohm. I'm more familiar with the SS mesh than I am with the cotton and silica wicks. Oh well that's what ohm meters are for. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated from the Reo Pro's. Thanks guys. (a lot of the pictures aren't showing up for me either).

If you're familiar with using ss mesh, I would continue to use it. On the RM2 you can have it touch the ceramic floor but nothing else thats metal if the mesh is not oxidized well. Meter before using :). What kinda device you'll be using the RM2 on?

My new orange and black REO GRAND. It makes me feel like a new kid again:)

That's the thread I was looking at, but the pics arn't showing me anything. Even on the laptop.
Also a bit confused about the "Micro coil". Guess its just gonna be a bit of effort and research to get this done right.
I've got this silica and would really like to use it. (I think).
I know the folks here will pull me through. (You all always do).
Off to work now. Have a wonderful day all. Oklahoma is getting another round of storms. Like we really need it right now.

EkoWool:

I bought the 1.5mm (which is the non-hollow one) from stormy's vapor cellar. To me, it's just like a good quality silica, with a few differences. If you don't torch it, it frays a lot when you cut it. Torching it takes care of this.

It comes with all the pluses and minuses that silica comes with, including that sickly sweet flavor that you sometimes get when you run it dry (the XC-116 doesn't seem to have this).

For my money, though, nothing yet has dethroned bamboo thread for me. It has an extremely short breakin period (one or two hits), it's extremely easy to replace without dorking up your coil, it's super cheap, produces clouds, can fit into almost any size coil, recovers a lot better from an accidental scorching than cotton does, and *seems* much safer than these cable sleeving solutions.

Torching ekowool before doing anything definitely helps keep it from fraying when you cut it. I have limited experience with this stuff but when I didn't torch it first, I couldn't get rid of that silica taste even after the first bottle vaped. Torching solved it. Ekowool also survives being in an RBA a lot better. I'm at the tail of my second week one one of my VVGs and its still going strong. (And that's in a ERA)

When I first got my RM2's my initial impression was it was too airy a draw for me, so I set them down. After reading through a majority of this thread I decided to give ekowool a shot in one if them. I don't know what the difference is but no more airy draw and its hitting better than the ERA. The flavor is also really, really good too. So far, I give a thumbs up to ekowool until I have time to find something else to fiddle with.

Thanks for all the info you guys share. It sure makes getting the best vape out of our REO's a lot easier!

Nice color combo guy and the RG is a sweet device.

Also happens to be the college colors for OSU. Not a big fan but both nephews and one niece went there. So guess that's why I names her Poke. Short for cowpokes. Lol

This is not a RM2 but it would work on one. I took a small piece of ceramic wick. Had a bunch of small pieces cause every time I tried to use one it broke. I wrapped my coil on it with 28 gauge wire. It is a 1/32 in ceramic wick. It measures .8 ohms. My camera won't focus in well enough to take a picture. It seems to be wicking well. Since the A7 has a drip well I put a piece of cotton on one side to wick the juice in the drip well up to the ceramic wick. Finally a use for all those broken ceramic wicks.

Finally got a silica wick done for one of the new Reomizers.
Have no idea of how many wraps, but ohmed out at 1.6. Just perfect for what I was after.
The mesh not so good. 1.1 ohm but I'm shooting for the 1.5-1.7 range. Used 30 guage kanthal for both. The silica wick is a doubled 2.5mm. No pics cause can't get a good pic of either.

I'm using silica wick atm, close to a month with no dry burns needed, it seems to just keep going. Still getting excellent flavor and vapor. Mine is around 1.8 ohms. I'm curious how its doing for you.

If I could just see the holes in the post it would be a lot better. Even when I get a dry burn, it doesn't seem to matter. Just squank and vape on.

Same here, it's really hard to flood, and dry hits just need a good squonk to keep on truckin' :)

I had trouble with seeing RBA's at first too, even got a lighted magnifyer, but I found all I really need is lots of LIGHT and I can manage just fine. Especially if I can only rebuild once a month LOL

I was doing pinhole photography for bit and was amazed to learn the immense diff. btwn daylight and artificial. I can open the shutter for 40 sec. outside VS. inside w/ 3 serious photographer's light bulbs (like, 200 watt or something ea.) it takes an hour!

edit: I know I'm getting seriously tangential there; but "yay daylight" :)
