mike, cant you just sand the top of the pin on some 500/650 grit sandpaper to take off a few mm. ive done it with contacts before, never had much of a problem with a steady hand.

glad i found this thread. ive read alot about the air flow on the russian being better, but i was never a fan of chinese kayfuns. was on the verge of breaking down and ordering it until this thread. .... it, will stick to kayfun

Kebotech took down my FB post and took away my ability to post or like

Fat Daddy Vapes did the same thing to me. I asked on their FB page if they were going to replace the center screw kit that they sent me that didn't work, and they deleted my post.

Not nice of either of 'em for doing that.

Carrie - I noticed he didn't delete you original post stating it was a faulty kit though. It's not right that he doesn't make good on it about the screw having faulty threads. I think the person who bought through ebay is getting a refund, he should do the same for 'us' who bought from his website.

I bought mine through ebay. I'm going to send him a message through ebay.

Good news...my friend just got a replacement v1 center pin from vaporDNA today and reports that his R91 v2 is now cured of the wandering resistance problem. Vapes much better he says.
I bought my polished SS R91 from vaporDNA. I was very impressed with their customer service.

I got one from them too. If Kebo won't be sending out replacement v1 pins until tomorrow, that means vaporDNA sent v1 pins from their own stock. That's what I call good customer service!

My Russian 91% V2 was working fine on my Provari from 4/6 until last night, 4/13. Now it is starting to fluctuate on my Provari. I have taken it off and on several times and it still checks in at 1.37 or 1.39 ohms on my little black box ohm meter, but the readings are creeping up to 1.7, 1.8 ohms on my Provari. Been doing this all day. Forget using it on my MVP2. Jumps all over, then settles down for a bit, then jumps all over again.

This is my first RBA and I researched this a long time to get the best one for me. Looks like I am eating this one. I hope some vendor comes up with a good solution that does not require an engineering degree. I am an old lady with bad eyesight and not great hands. I was so proud of myself when I made my first coils that worked.

I do have an Igo-L but that is not going to work to replace my Russian.

All I did was ask specifically for a timeline on when they were going to ship replacement pins. I was nice and didn't bash.

Sounds to me like they are going to try to sweep this one under the rug.

Let's hope some of the vendors step up to the plate. This has got to be hurting them too. I just hope that I will be able to buy a v1 center pin for a reasonable amount of money soon.

I just found this supposed R91 rebuild kit on FatDaddy's. It was also told to me that this would fix my V2 R91. Is this the one all of you here have been saying does not work for the fix? I am confused.

Fatdaddyvapes Tobeco Russian 91 Kayfun Lite Complete Overhaul Rebuild Kit | eBay

A trusted source is telling me this works.

I think that's the Kayfun pin that doesn't have the 2 part screw like the R91v1. This is the kit we ordered that didn't work, Fatdaddyvapes Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus Complete Overhaul Rebuild Kit | eBay.

I kind of did something like your proposed test. With the moveable pin full extended I get a 2.5+Ω reading, when it's fully compressed I got .8Ω for a coil measuring .6Ω between the +/- screws connecting the coil.

It may also have something to do with the size/diameter of the moveable pin itself. On the wonky one it 'seems like' there's more wobble and the the 'good one' is a tighter fit. The 'wonky' one seems to act like a cheap mech mod switch that you have to mash to the side of the tube to make good contact for it to fire. The 'wonky' one can change it's ohms just by pushing it off center w/ the probe when doing an Ω check.

Bingo. I'm not pleased with my two version 1.5 russians due to the tolerances. One is a much tighter fit between the center screw and the 510 screw, the other; not so much. The one with looser tolerances sometimes causes a hard short due to the loose 510 screw. Not to mention, regardless of how I do my builds I always seem to get e juice leaking from around the 510. If the center post insulator was just a tad bit tighter around the center post, perhaps I wouldn't have this problem.

I'm kind of fed up with the Russian 91 from KEBO.

duro, I am not sure what you have. Is your center screw spring loaded or is it 2 separate screws? In this pic, V1 is on the left and V2 is on the right.
