NVS(new Vaper syndrome) Been there. Almost all of my mod run above Room Temp. Has something to do with Coils heating surrounding Metal, Batteries discharging under Load and Wiring/boards transferring energy.
If you read the first posts after the pictures i posted, it was a very civil discussion. This drama seemed to start with a cheap shot that carried over from another thread earlier in the week. I only want people to be aware in case there is an issue. But unfortunately that angers some. I met no harm and should have better helped with your issue
As I said though. That group I linked you to would be your best source of info. It's also where I learned about the issue with all the DNA 200's and how to fix them. Because every Reuleaux DNA 200 will eventually be a brick if they don't take the face off and move the ribbon away from the fire button.

Yeah, usually its the atty that's causing the mod's heat. I suppose a heat sink might help. The board probably generates some as well. And my hand does.
How is the ventilation? Does it have holes or slots?

I found this in the middle of the VapeNW customer reviews. Apparently the heat is normal.

Thank you! Now I'm not so concerned about my $78 B&M purchase! I know I coulda got it cheaper but then I'd had to wait! I'm kinda like Veruca Salt "I want an oompa loompa NOW daddy"! There is always going to be cheaper. My DNA version is $170 but I paid $190 at a shop. Vape NW had it for $110 on Black Friday with free batteries.
Sometimes its better to just pay the extra so you don't have to wait for it. Although I would have jumped at $110 if I didnt have to spend my whole check pn thanksgiving dinner and Christmas presents for the kids. If its a good B&M, you have some piece of mind if it fails.

Tbf the mod itself is cheap but get 6 brand new batteries and it becomes quite prices, I've run it for almost 6 weeks never missed a beat I only wish my dna preorder wasn't refunded damn you evolve
Does this heat happen with the dna version? Also I noticed while charging through the micro usb the board area got warm also towards the end of the charging so I HIGHLY doubt its the attys that are causing the heat, or at least all of it.
If you buy them from a battery supplier and not a vape shop that marks them up...6 new batteries should run you $30-35 and not $48-60
