Well, here's an old-timer posting for ya, Don....

I wanted a screen name that kinda had vaping in it, something goofy and recognizable....and someone already took Darth Vaper......

I bounced around a couple of ideas for a day or 2 before I settled on Vicks Vap-oh-yeah, an obvious take on the product, and because I was a menthol smoker of old.....

Nowadays, most people shorten the name to Vicks....

The avatar series of witches came about because of my involvement in the Emerald City social group....I shot off my mouth about nominations for the wicked witch, and ended up with the title..... :) Not that I mind.... I have fun with it.

Just remember, it ain't easy being green :D

I got my nick from a boss I worked with back in 1988. I was always being a wise-... to him and he nicknamed me Dr. Sarcasmo. I've been using it for many years now. He was one of the best bosses I ever had. And I have had more than a few...LOL

As for my avatar, I do digital sculpting. This particular sculpt I felt represented the devilish side of my personality well, so he's my avatar. I always tell people it's my self portrait even though he looks nothing like me...:D

In my lurking about you all seem to be a very friendly and helpful bunch :)

We are ... and if an oddball exception every gives you a hard time, just holler8-o and we'll descend on the son (or daughter) of a gun and  him/her for you!

Hope to hear more and more from you, Lurkiee (by screen name, but no longer needed behavior)!

Don, sometimes called DaBoom

Old timer! Join date: March of this year! This industry/community changes so fast.

It's not that I disagree with your self-attribution; to some extent, I suppose, it might apply to me (June 2009). Ahh, remember the good old days, Vicks, when we heard rumors than Janty (the Kissbox people) were coming out with something called the Dura...;) But I don't think either of us qualifies for that old folks home aka the ECF Veterans Forum.:D

Great thread, I just love my Avatar pic. I tend to change them often since my user name is what I use all over for simple reason. It's my Name. Rachel Kayne. I just never could be a 'hider'...I tried lol. But I work online rather often and freelance write so it's good to be consistent. Every now and then I get someone who knows 'arcane' so they 'get it'. lol.

And Crash? I get you there, I was told I would never walk after getting run over by a car about a decade ago. Guess what? The wifey and I are going DANCING tonight. Don't tell me I cannot do something!!

my screen name is a mix of all the letters in my first and last name, I got saw it when I typed my name in a site that does anagrams: Internet Anagram Server / I, Rearrangement Servant : anagram, anagram, software, anagramme, anagrama, wordplay, word play, anagram creator, anagram solver, anagram finder, anagram generator, anagram maker, anagram unscrambler, anagram machine, crossw
There is a bunch but only a couple were any good, so I went with the one I liked the most... plus camels are cool so that helped decide.

Mine is obvious it means something else when you say it but the way it is typed it means nothing so I use it when I play games and everyonce in a while someone would notice my name and get offended, how stupid.

my avatar is my username with the star ship Defiant. It is a ship from Start Trek DS9.

I am a Trekkie, I wonder how many other Trekkies there are in this forum?

I used to have another username I use and it was Stignz28 It is just 3 Cars that I had owned that I put together. A 2004 Subaru WRX STi, a 1987 Buick Grand National, and a 1995 Chevy Camaro Z28, ALL of which are SUPER DAMN FAST CARS =)

I picked the name LoBo years ago, 8 or 9 years old I think. I was watching TV and saw an commercial for one of those Greatest hits of the 70s CDs or what not and as the names were scrolling by Lobo popped out at me. Being an avid gamer my alter ego has gone through several phases but it's always been some form of Lobo. I guess I don't look at it as a screen name anymore but just my "other" name. (I'll even respond to it in real life if someone calls me by it. sad I know)
The worst is when I play spanish players 'cause they think I speak spanish or portuguese...awkward.

1st Band I started I made up the name.
Hung out at the studio alot, So I went from that Hanika Guy, to just being called Hanika. Became a nickname, so I got used to it.
As time passed I used the name for pretty much everything online. Forums, Games, etc.

I'm called Hanika more then my real name. To the point where one day my Dad told me they wouldn't be offended if I legally changed my name to that. lol

Now I see when I goggle it, it comes up with alot of stuff where I see Hanika seems to be a girls name. And a guitar Manufacturer. Where it used to be all my band related stuff.

But, I still use it as my "Stage" name. It's just cooler then Shawn. lol

I've used the expression "Look below me" before to people it's a hit every time.

Will is a VERY powerful thing, isnt it? Def not saying there are plenty of situations when one cannot overcome, but I do have a huge belief in that its all about how you handle your weaknesses...In many cases, much like ours, we were able to make a weakness a strength!;)

What a FUN thread, DonDaBoom! I always like reading your threads, always something different and fun!
:D

Hifistud comes from High Fidelity Studios - went to enter it into one forum or another ages ago, and it wouldn't take the full HiFiStudios thing, but shortened it to, well, HiFiStud. It's kinda stuck, but I do occasionally get referred to as THE hifistud, with a bit of emphasis on the "stud". I can assure the assembled throng that it's completely unwarranted.

Just for completeness, the name's Dave, and I am a sound engineer/record producer (one title you are allowed to give yourself, the other only others can give you).

haha ok this is scary i typed my name in your site link and it came up with Gauntness Ouija as one...

I did my name, and came up with Angrier Bub or Ear Rubbing. My wife says Angrier Bub fits me better.

My forum name is just a remnant of my first MMORPG, Ultima Online. My characters all had Scottish names (last name MacGregor), my main character was Angus. When I moved to play Star Wars Galaxies, the ATAT was added. It was the first letters of my guild's name, and also a reference to an AT-AT, the big Imperial Walkers seen at the battle of Hoth. It's been my forum name in pretty much every other MMO I have played since.

My avatar and forum sig are references to the greatest TV show ever made (in my opinion) Firefly, and the movie Serenity. And of course, the Chuck I had personalized with the Serenity logo for me.
